Develops and implements policies and procedures for emergency and pre-accident plans. Exercises continuing responsibility for flight-line and airfield facilities maintenance and security. Ensures local advisories are published and posted for airmen that pertain to airfield operations, services, hazards, alerts, no-over-flight areas and operations within the restricted airspace. Provides input for the airfield budget and manpower requirements for facilities operations.

Writes justification for additional manpower and funding when required. Monitors safety and timeliness of the airfield petroleum/oil/lubricant (POL) refueling. Directs requisition, receipt and availability of DoD Flight Information publications, to include civilian/FAA navigational charts and aeronautical publications. Monitors status of airfield physical plant to include runway, ramps, hangars, other structures and equipment. Establishes priority of repairs. Verifies pavement inspection and engineering survey schedules. 

Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of installation aviation safety programs and practices and determines compliance with higher headquarters directives. Serves as Installation Air Traffic and Airspace Officer. Ensures Sherman Army Airfield complies with National Air Space (NAS) requirements. Maintains contact with local civilian authorities to prevent any construction off of the installation encroaching on Sherman Army Airfield Airspace.

Checked and monitored all mechanical systems for evidence of malfunctioning parts. Serviced, maintained, and installed components on various systems on heavy jet aircraft. Conducted safety checks and periodic inspections on turbine engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, landing gear, control cables and rigging, and fuselage structure. Excellent attention to detail in maintaining maintenance logs and maintenance historical archives. Certified in jet engine test running and operational testing/checkout.

Aircraft Mechanic

Supervised and performed airfield management functions. Coordinated with aircrews, air traffic control, and various base agencies that provide a safe operational environment for aircraft. Supervised and directly trained two subordinates. Expert in wildlife control, abatement, and depredation.

It's funny: when I had just quit my job in 2021, my worry was not having enough work. 

Now, I worry about not having enough time to keep up with all the work. 

Keep going. 

If I were just starting out or if I were looking to try something new that would make me a killing, I would get hired as a salesman at an RV lot. 

The market is predicted to grow by about ten billion dollars over the next five years. 

But this doesn't mean much without context. The market is currently sitting at just shy of $20bn, but in five years, it is predicted to be over $29bn. That's a 47% increase in five years. 

I'm aggressively courting this industry for content marketing.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'll bet you aren't putting nearly enough time and effort into scaling your side-hustle to become your main hustle. 

If that's what you really want to do with your life and career, then you need to get used to pulling lots of long hours. 

Nothing has made me a more concise writer than forcing myself to write a (mostly) daily email.

The competency crisis, including high-ticket items from "reputable" brands, is everywhere. 

For example, in the off-season, we bought a much newer travel trailer (2021) to replace our 2008 Outback. 

The new unit looks awesome, but the interior is complete garbage. 

Our old camper is faded on the outside, but the interior has far superior craftsmanship. 

This isn't about campers. This is about everything. Craftsmanship everywhere is on the decline, including online skills.
