I have a very broad background in all aspects of management and leadership development for an eclectic group of companies from Fortune 10 to start-ups. Over the years I have been on both sides of the employment situation. I have hired many people for a wide variety of positions and have suffered through the many frustrations associated with seeking employment.This along with mentoring several job clubs for unemployed or under-employed people has led me to my passion. In mentoring job seekers, I crystallized my thinking on the subject to the point that I have also written a book on resume writing and job search techniques titled "So Do You Want a Job, Or What? Dirty Secrets of Resume Writing and Job Hunting". Selected Accomplishments include: ♢ Led four different financially-troubled companies back to solid profitability by: ♢ Establishing logical and efficient organizational structures ♢ Building effective management teams ♢ Improving manufacturing efficiency to impact both top and bottom line results ♢ Increasing production efficiency resulting in gross margin increase from -8% to 15%. ♢ Directed the shift of 90% of a Company’s production offshore increasing the gross margin from 7% to 21%. ♢ Reorganized the operations of a non-profit allowing it to pay down more than $5 mm of debt ♢ Identified and corrected quality defect in the formulation for an extrusion product, resulting in an immediate 80% improvement in quality resulting in a cost savings of $1.5 million. ♢ Developed an effective, easily tailored resume format emphasizing accomplishments. I help individuals get a GRIP on their search for employment by providing unique assistance from writing a resume, to setting up a job search campaign, to keeping job seekers positive during the search. I continue to offer business coaching as well.
