In the multi-hatted role, I serve on the board, act as a strategic partner and force multiplier to the executive chairman on group-wide strategy acceleration. In an extended remit on group governance, I also represent ownership interest, deputize for corresponding principal duties on behalf of the executive chairman to align the group leadership team with the strategic core, and partner with them to connect the dots and fuel business growth across the global organization.

Last but not least, I lead group human resources and organization development on the mission to champion people, culture, and innovation evolution to align and augment organizational capability. Group Chief of Staff & Chief People and Innovation Officer

As an independent executive consultant, I collaborate with client companies worldwide to reimagine and transform their strategic organizational and people capabilities into winning plays.

One of my notable engagements was with a global deep-tech healthcare company based in the UAE. I advised the CEO on the company's high-level strategy and administration and also worked with the executive team on strategic business integration, capital raise, and catalyzing organic growth. Additionally, I established the full group HR capability model and employee experience playbook from scratch.

Apart from this, I have helped global enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies, align their HR capabilities through strategic HR review and due diligence and significantly revamped the employee relations strategy and workforce capability framework for their APAC business portfolios.

I also engage in pre-opening luxury hotel projects in Dubai, Tokyo, and Bali, where I assist in building strategic people capability, performing owner-level organizational readiness assessments, and spearheading early-stage development work.

Additionally, I am recognized for my expertise in Industrial and Employee Relations (IR & ER), having successfully represented clients in resolving related contentious disputes and landmark industrial tribunal cases in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China.

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C)

I led and drove the collective HR agenda across the Asia portfolio. In an extended remit, I supported global HR and business transformation initiatives and also guided the hotels' HR leaders worldwide to ensure global HR operational excellence.

To that charter and more, I successfully steered business repurposing and restructuring across the entire region to strategically pivot organizational capacity in response to pandemic-era business uncertainty - significantly resulting in right-sizing and upskilling of workforce, unprecedently resolving impasse with national trade unions and government agencies, bringing about tremendous cost savings and business optimization, leveraging on economy of scale to create lean yet mean shared resources business models and revamp the overall operational process-chain in future-proofing the company for both pandemic-era and post-pandemic 'new normal' business demands.

At the start of 2022, I relinquished my full-time role with the company to pursue my professional esports interests. Following that, I continued to be retained by the company on a consultancy basis right up to the halfway mark of the year.

Senior Human Resources Advisor, Asia Pacific

I deputized the executive chairman on the day-to-day administration of the global organization, headed up group human resources and retained oversight responsibility for the core corporate functions of finance, corporate communications, information technology, operations, and asset management. I also led the Strategy Group in the Executive Chairman’s Office, which drives integrated Group strategic planning, catalyzes new functions and capabilities that serve the long-term interest of the Group.

The real deal saw me empowered as the force multiplier and changemaker to orchestrate the overall group strategic transformation agenda towards reimagining the future of the organization, reinventing strategic capabilities, rewriting the business playbook, and consolidating the diversified businesses spanning across multiple countries and industry sectors into a new-age ambidextrous organization. To that, I led and concluded the group-wide initiative that succeeded in reengineering the fundamentals of the business and future of work, enabling digital transformation, forging a purpose-built organizational architecture that balances independent business divisions with integrated core corporate support functions as well as redefining leadership and workforce capabilities, ways of working, and culture.

Additionally, I oversaw the group-wide technological innovation movement and led the teams to test our mettle in global campaigns such as the Mayor of London's Civic Innovation Challenge. 

I am also widely regarded as a leading pioneer on the frontier of global business response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the wake of the pandemic, I developed and launched a Global CSR initiative aimed at particularly helping SMEs build enterprise capabilities to ensure business continuity and protect the well-being of their workforce.

In addition to my role as Group HR Chief of Arcc Holdings, I founded and headed up Arcc Talents - the leading management consultancy & professional services arm of Arcc Holdings, specializing in executive search, human resources, strategic transformation, and business solutions for international clients. 

During this time, I led the teams in partnering with global blue chip companies and emerging startups and helping them with key leadership appointments, building organizational capabilities and capacities for their thriving enterprises across Asia Pacific. We also successfully represented clients in resolving related contentious disputes and landmark industrial tribunal cases in Singapore, Malaysia, and China.

Director & Principal Consultant

Meritus Hotels & Resorts

As Marina Mandarin's functional Head of HR, I reported directly to the Hotel General Manager and the Senior Vice President HR of OUE and Meritus Hotels & Resorts.

Under my HR leadership, I rewrote the people script and pioneered a strategic shift, catalyzing several disruptive talent approaches that accelerated the Hotel's people transformation. I also made significant contributions to forging a successful working collaboration between the Hotel and Government Agencies in championing productivity and industrial relations initiatives that led to the Hotel gaining national recognition as a Model Employer for Leading Practices in Work-Life Strategies and Productivity and gaining prominence as an Employer of Choice.

Testament to this, the Hotel was the first in the industry to be officially conferred with the prestigious Approved Training Organization status by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency in 2008. The Hotel also clinched the Leading HR Practices Award in Health & Employee Wellness at the Singapore HR Awards 2009 and received the Certificate of Commendation for the AARP International Innovative Employer Award. Additionally, the Hotel advanced to the second round of the bespoke Asian Human Capital Award in the same year. The fine tradition continued the following year when the Hotel was once again the only Singapore Hotel shortlisted for the same AARP Award.

In response to the 2009 economic downturn, I took the lead in implementing a plan that helped the Hotel contain HR-related costs and garner over $1 million of government assistance funding through the Jobs Credit and SPUR schemes. 

At the request of the Owner's Office, I led the negotiation and finalization of a landmark Collective Agreement for all three UOL Hotels.

For my accomplishments, I served on two National Tripartite Workgroups to champion best practices in workplace productivity, innovation and health for Singapore's hospitality landscape.

Promoted to HR & Training Manager, I deputized the Director of HR as the number two in HR leadership, in addition to being responsible for Quality Assurance, Training & Development functions of the Hotel.

Human Resources & Training Manager

I joined the Group's Marina Mandarin Hotel as Training & Quality Manager during its closure for a complete overhaul, slated for re-positioning and re-opening as a luxury five-star business hotel. 

There, I oversaw the entire Hotel's pre-opening staff training & development initiatives, as well as developed a full range of training programmes - including new staff orientation, Hotel rebranding, service skills, leadership, and on-the-job training - to complement the new business direction and strategy of the Hotel. 

Also responsible for the Hotel's Quality Assurance function, I synergized the Hotel's training & development efforts with its quality initiatives. I partnered with department heads to pioneer several business innovation projects that brought about refreshing changes to the front-line departments, restructuring of organizational structure, and redesign of job functions and work processes to deliver seamless guest experiences - leading to the creation of signature service concepts that saw the Hotel clinch several leading Hospitality Awards.

Raffles Hotel Singapore

Reporting to the Director of HR, I was functionally heading up the training and development function of the world-renowned legendary Grand Luxury Hotel. 

During my tenure, training & development efforts were widely accredited as the crucial success factor for ensuring the Hotel consistently attained the top spot in the Group for overall guest experiences. 

I drove concerted efforts that holistically aligned the Hotel’s training & development framework to the People Developer Standards, solidified internal training capabilities across all levels in the Hotel, and led to the creation of a learning culture. 

I was the Master Trainer for proprietary training programmes such as Raffles Enculturation, Raffles Difference, the One-Minute Manager, Who Moved My Cheese, and FISH!™, Train-The-Trainer and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. 

I also played a pivotal role in forming and training an elite Food & Beverage action team to provide lateral service across all 17 F&B outlets at the Hotel and during major events such as the prestigious Wine, Food, and Art Extravaganza and other high-profile banquet functions.

I was the Project Leader for the ISO 9001 and People Developer Award and was the Master Trainer for the Group non-clinical core training programmes. 

During the SARS epidemic, I was drafted as an integral member of the Group core response team, working alongside global experts and professionals at the national level to address the outbreak. 

I trained over 2,000 staff members recruited by the Group, equipping them with essential skills to serve as national ambassadors to provide temperature screening services at all entry points into Singapore - Changi Airport, ferry terminals, Tuas, and Woodlands immigration checkpoints.

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, I have a penchant for the road less travelled. More often than not, I relish the challenge of blazing trails, making the impossible possible, and weaving in winning philosophies at fast-growing companies across the globe. Cumulatively, I have a broad background in building and leading agile HR organizations and accelerating sustainable strategic change and business transformation. 

Living in permanent beta, the opportunity to drive game-changing thought leadership and advocate megatrends in emerging fields, namely disruptive innovation and the future of work, never ceases to excite me and has earned me industry accolades. Beyond my professional endeavours, I am an avid esports enthusiast. At the top of my game, I was the World's Number One Player in the hugely popular Global Strategy MMORTS game "Clash of Clans". Equally enthralled with wanderlust and adrenaline rush, I enjoy pursuing juggernaut adventures around the world.
