Growing up, I would watch news and documentaries late at night while sipping on my hot chocolate. I enjoyed listening to real stories more than watching cartoons. I even dreamt of becoming a journalist so I pursued Communications and interned at some local media agencies. I also volunteered for a non-government organization that focused on alleviating poverty where I helped built houses and organized programs and workshops for young and old people in the communities. It was an incredible opportunity to listen to more inspiring survival stories from real people, and if it weren't for the need to financially support my family, I would have joined the volunteering organization full-time. So when I graduated, I got offered a teaching job at an ESL school. I've always been passionate about helping people grow, and this passion carried me further in the industry for more than eight years. I was sent to Japan to market the company's products and services. My job was not only limited to teaching students but I was also highly involved in maintaining relationships with existing clients and obtaining new ones through work immersions and campaigns which later paved the way for more Filipino teachers to work in Japan. My goal of helping the company expand translated into helping my fellow teachers fulfill their bigger dreams abroad. I recently moved to America and felt that this is the perfect opportunity for myself to go back to what I started and give myself the chance to flourish in the media industry. I am driven and willing to go the extra mile for my personal and professional growth. I have a high drive for productivity which can be both a curse and a blessing! I struggle with relaxing so I hope you can share some cools ways how to when we connect!
