HubSpot is rolling back Auto-Merge in Data Hub Pro/Enterprise! 🚨 

HubSpot just announced that duplicate records will no longer merge automatically, even when there’s a perfect 1:1 match. Instead, all merges will go back to being done manually in Manage Duplicates.

Why? Auto-merge saved time, but it also created uncertainty, and sometimes unexpected merges. HubSpot is hitting pause while they rethink how to make it more transparent and reliable.

Did anyone try the auto-merge feature?

Since when can you enroll companies in a workflow from a view? 😍

It’s been possible for contacts forever, but not being able to do it from the company page always drove me a little crazy.

Such a small change but such a big win for workflows like reviewing duplicates side-by-side and merging them through a Koalify 🐨 workflow!

Also experiencing franchise headaches in HubSpot? 🤯

Every location of a franchise (e.g., dental chains, pharmacies, restaurants, gyms, schools) uses the same domain name.

HubSpot says: “Cool, one company.”

But in reality? Each location often buys separately, runs separately, and could be tracked separately.

👉 Possible fix: Build company records using Name + Suburb/City and don't use the company domain name as unique identifier. That way each branch gets its own record, but still links back to the parent brand.

I’m curious:
If you sell into franchises, how do you track each location separately? 
Are you using companies, associations labels or custom objects?

Migrating another system into HubSpot?
There’s one simple step that saves an unbelievable amount of time.

In a recent chat, Daryl Michel mentioned how valuable it is to create a property in HubSpot to store the IDs from whatever system you're importing from.

That’s it.
Just keep the old IDs.

It sounds tiny, but it makes everything easier later: matching records, fixing imports, running updates, avoiding duplicates… all of it. 

You always have a stable reference point to fall back on.

As Daryl put it, even if it’s not a unique field, just store the ID anyway, you’ll thank yourself later.

If you’re planning a migration in 2026, this is one of those small habits that makes a huge difference.

Think you have missing data in HubSpot?
You might just have too many duplicates.

On a recent project with Hazel Johnson from ProsperoHub | Siloy | HubSpot Elite Partner, we discovered something counter-intuitive:

The client wasn’t missing key information at all, their best data was just scattered across thousands of duplicate records.
