As VP Sales for a Berlin based Series A startup I was responsible to build a strong sales function and a high performing sales team for new and existing business in the learning space, build appropriate processes to create a scalable sales organisation for continuous 3X year over year growth and build strong client relationship for a sustainable SaaS business model.

Achieving this was only possible thanks to the great collaboration with my cross- functional partners across Customer Success, Marketing, Business Development and RevOps. #firstteam

Projects I was leading included book building, creating compensation plans and improve processes such as Forecasting or Onboarding for the revenue functions.

Our focus on strong NRR resulted in the creation of a newly established team of Relationship Managers working closely with Customer Success Teams and constantly improving the performance of the Account Executives. My team grew from 3 to 10+ experienced reps which we hired from top companies like Salesforce.com and LinkedIn, where they already were among the top performers, some of them I was fortunate to have in my team for the second time.

During my tenure at Sharpist we became the market leader in DACH by adding big DAX as well as Mittelstand logos to the pool of highly satisfied clients thanks to our best-in-class account management approach.

As one of three newly hired Enterprise Sales Executives for the DACH market I was responsible for the Financial Services segment. I was in charge of bringing Looker's new innovative and cloud native BI solutions to the market that differentiate our solution from the encumbent market leaders and were the reason for having been acquired by Google shortly before I was hired. This was partly done autonomously from a lead generation perspective and partly in partnership with my Google Cloud colleagues for some of its largest clients such as Deutsche Bank.

Google, the worldwide leader in Innovation, is now bringing its energy and focus to Business Intelligence. Through its Smart Analytics Platform - Google connects, analyses and visualizes data across multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments. Furthermore, by leveraging Looker and its robust capabilities, customers are able to drastically increase their access to business analytics with greater accuracy and agility.

Having (out)grown our business by >200% in my first year at LinkedIn Learning leading a hybrid sales team that grew from 2 to 11 members I focused growing the business even more with a specialized team of experienced new business specialists to keep winning market share across Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In this role I also doubled down on the coordination of Marketing and Lead Generation activities with my cross-functional business partners.

LinkedIn Learning helps anyone learn business skills, software, technology or creative skills to achieve their personal and professional goals. LinkedIn Learning was the missing piece for LinkedIn's company vision to build the economic graph. More and more large enterprises (e.g. DAX30) adopted our solution during my tenure at LinkedIn Learning.

The vision for me and my team was to make LinkedIn Learning the new household name for E-Learning across Enterprise businesses of all size in the DACH market and thus providing learning opportunities that put the learner first. Our success resulted in several global top performers within my team across LinkedIn Learning globally.

I had the opportunity to build and lead a fantastic team of sales professionals (New Business and Relationship Managers) to further establish our LinkedIn Learning Solutions across DACH - Germany/Austria/Switzerland.
Our team grew from 5
2 to 11 members and we more than doubled revenues for DACH Enterprise business YOY, winning many big logos across Germany, Switzerland and Austria.  We ended up as the most successful Hybrid Enterprise Team across LinkedIn Learning globally. In my role as DACH lead I was also coordinating Marketing activities and working with my cross-functional partners across Customer Success and Sales Development to ensure highly succesful renewals and a strong lead pipeline.

As a Global Account Manager in LinkedIn's Talent Solutions business I had the opportunity to work with our most strategic clients to help them with their social recruiting and employer branding strategies, based on our capability to build a data-driven strategy to attract world-class talent on a global scale. 
The scope of my job was a combination of consulting & educating my clients on data-based recruiting and branding and then co-developing the best strategy for their individual situation and needs.  
In order to deliver the best possible quality of our services I had the luxury to rely on a global team of experts across each of these areas. 

My team always strives to help our client's TA teams to be recognized as strategic advisors to their stakeholders resulting in strong business outcomes. As this requires trust on both ends we always base our recommendations on the best long-term business outcome for our clients as our guiding principle. 
We managed to outperform quota expectations EACH year which more than doubled during that time and was among the highest quotas across EMEA, and I was among top 10% sales reps each year.

Additionally, being located in Germany, I support our German organisation to help educate the market about the value of topics such as social recruiting, using your employees as brand advocates and building your personal brand on LinkedIn.

As Head of Global Account Management for Giesecke & Devrient's Market Segment Banks I built and led a team of experienced Global Account Managers with full sales responsibility for 8 Global Accounts headquartered in EMEA, APAC and the Americas.

The scope of this role was to ensure we deliver the best value to our most strategic clients and given the particular nature of the payment industry and technological changes affecting this industry this also included building our Strategic Partnership Management Strategy for the world's largest payment schemes Visa and MasterCard.

My team consisted of ~6 Global Account Managers (for Global Banks) and 2 Strategic Account Managers (for Global Payment Schemes) and I was lucky to have a very experienced and diverse team of different background and nationalities.
During this time the payment industry underwent some significant changes and disruptive technologies from new payment schemes and new mobile channels gained an increasing role and threat to incumbents and existing technologies. Helping our clients and partners to adapt their long-term strategies in this new  market environment was one of our key goals and basis of our success.

In my first role in the payment industry I worked within the International Sales Team at Giesecke & Devrient's global headquarter and had the sales responsibility for our subsidiaries in the Americas (Canada, US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina) and EMEA (UK, France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Egypt).  My role was a two-way role to help execute our HQ strategy in the regions but also being an ambassador of our subsidiaries at HQ to make sure our approach was based on the best understanding of regional demands and needs.
Based on my strong background in Strategic Consulting I was also appointed the Strategy Process Owner for our Payment Division and was responsible for our annual strategy process from strategy development to its annual presentation with our board members. 

In my last two years in this role I was also responsible to develop a Global Account Management Program for our Payment Division, as we saw a clear strategic need to deliver global value to our most strategic clients. Upon successful creation of a framework we implemented it and I was promoted to Head of Global Account Management.

Platinion GmbH – A company of the Boston Consulting Group

I started my career with BCG as a consultant within their newly founded subsidiary Platinion. During the first application phase of Internet technology, Platinion consisted of a diverse international team of consultants, web architects, designers and IT experts to further build out BCG's offering around IT projects from strategy to conceptualisation and implementation  to help clients with their digital business transformation.  

On every joint project with BCG, we worked on interdisciplinary teams, which ensured that we are all committed to the same quality standard and dedicated, effective working methods. 

My role as a Consultant for Platinion was to work close with BCG's strategy consultants focusing on web technology and designing use cases for BCG's key clients across industries. During that time we helped our clients redesign their IT architectures to the newly developed standards and supported clients to build out a new customer experience based on web technologies and the internet as a new client front-end. I was part of projects in the utility sector around topics such as Customer Relationship Management Software, Multi-Project-Management Tools or the post-merger alignment of a utility provider's IT landscape and I also served as a connecting link between clients, BCG teams and our IT experts.
 
While the advancements of web technologies have changed the focus of Platinion compared to the "old days" of web technology, Platinion still is a 100% subsidiary of The Boston Consulting Group, and still complements BCG's service offerings from IT and architecture consulting to IT implementation management.

As a Co-Founder of Blue Media we developed concepts within the media industry to use internet technology to build out websites as a new client front-end and to create a new customer experience and new ways to market content and product offerings. 

Working on both online and offline concepts we published a magazine for several years in the sport and travel space and created an innovative web presence for a German sports magazine. My focus was on Business Development and building out Strategic Partnerships. Unfortunately we could not get the necessary funding to further build out our concept into becoming a content based travel portal when the first dot.com bubble burst happened in early 2001, so we decided to move into new career paths.
