At Two Bridges Asset Management LLC we help successful individuals, families, and trusts (as well as institutional investors) diversify their investment portfolios, obtain income, and achieve capital growth through investments in multifamily residential real estate.

We work closely with pre-qualified investors to add high-quality real estate to their investment portfolios. By focusing on currently cash-flowing assets in the fast-growing southeastern United States, we enable investors to participate in passive ownership of larger investment properties with the potential to increase value. 

Our syndication model enables ownership with a relatively small cash investment compared to the overall value of the property.

Leading the overall day-to-day operations, I am intimately involved in sourcing deals, performing financial underwriting, leading financial and physical due diligence, negotiating purchase and sale agreements, raising equity, securing debt, and managing assets.

Our portfolio currently includes 400+ units of multifamily rental properties in the Southeast, a rapidly growing area where it is still possible to find excellent investment value.  We focus on currently cash-flowing assets, seeking out opportunities to add value by installing professional property management, addressing deferred maintenance, and reducing operating expenses. Having built an extensive network in the real estate community, we benefit from an active pipeline and see new deals on almost a daily basis. 

We also provides real estate consulting services, levering our extensive networks to help deals find capital and capital find deals.  We also offer real estate brokerage services through an affiliated licensed brokerage firm, Two Bridges Brokerage Services LLC.

As an attorney, my focus was on commercial litigation and real estate litigation.  For the last five years of my legal career, I focused exclusively on representing real estate owners in highly complex commercial litigation around the United States.

Selected career highlights:

► Within a week of being assigned to a three year-old case on the eve of trial, discovered an overlooked basis for dismissing the client from the case without liability, saving it hundreds of millions of dollars in potential asbestos liability and trial costs.
► Helped a multinational energy company obtain a very large award against Iraq for damages to its assets in Kuwait during the First Gulf War.
► Devised a new legal theory, undermining decades of settled industry expectations, that helped a client obtain a settlement of several hundred million dollars when its own agent attempted to manage a directly competing hotel just a few blocks away.

My name is Jonathan Twombly. I help high income earners invest passively in Multifamily real estate and boutique hotels. I also mentor people who wish to learn to purchase these investment properties on their own.

I help you invest passively in these assets through what's called a "syndication." That means we create a fund by pooling your money with that of other investors and buy an apartment complex or hotel. Unlike the funds you may be familiar with that have many properties in one fund, we create a separate fund for each new property.

This means you choose which properties to invest in, and which to pass on.

Once we purchase a property, we execute our business plan. Usually this involves upgrading the property to make it more profitable. We hold the property until we believe it's a good time to sell, usually 5-7 years. Profits are distributed along the way, usually quarterly, and the original investment is returned, along with pro-rata sale proceeds, when we sell the property.

We target properties we believe will return about 15-20% on an annualized basis for the life of the investment. Typically, about half comes from cash flow during the holding period and half comes from sale profits.

I have been doing syndications full-time since 2011. I built and sold my first multifamily portfolio in South Carolina between 2014 and 2019. I started renovating hotels into boutique hotels in 2022. 

I have participated, either as the lead sponsor or as a JV partner, in approximately $250,000,000 of real estate in my career thus far. (As of 2024).

Before real estate, I was a corporate lawyer for 12 years, working for some of the most prestigious law firms in New York, Boston, and London. 

During that time, I became known for an attention to detail, creative thinking, and an ability to notice overlooked connections that resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in additional recoveries or reduced liability exposure for my clients.

It's that same creativity, attention, and eye for overlooked value that sparked my interest in multifamily real estate and later undervalued hotel properties.

Responsible for sourcing deals, negotiating agreements, and raising equity, I noted the real estate potential of the Southeast, which has experienced a population boom that is expected to continue, yet still offers property bargains relative to big metropolitan areas.  

When I formed Two Bridges, I immediately shifted my focus to this region.

My previous 12-year career as a corporate attorney for some of the most prestigious law firms in New York, Boston, and London trained me to see what others miss.  My attention to detail, creative thinking, and tendency to notice overlooked connections literally resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in additional recoveries or reduced liability exposure for my clients.

I bring the same creativity, attention, and eye for overlooked value to my current work as a real estate investor.
