Background - Jonathan Leafe spent 3 years in a big advertising agency from 1985, 3 years in Spain and then set his own agency up in 1989, one of the very first to universally use Macintosh for digital artwork. 

Going from 1 to 10 employees in 2 years before being bought out. Working for someone else didn’t suit and he returned to start his own business, Strawberry, in 1993. 

Starting with 2 going on to be 40 strong and innovating services along the way. First website build in 1996 and digital marketing over 10 years ago.

The business has grown every year (apart from 2007) and has been above benchmark profitable throughout that time. Strawberry has regularly featured in the Drum Top 100 independents and the Prolific North Top 50 agencies. As well as being highly rated on Plimsol rating agency as one of the few Creative agencies rated as ‘Strong’

Jonathan has now successfully exited the business, maintaining a small shareholding and has been retained as an Ambassador.

Jonathan readily supports start-ups and has mentored over 100. He is also a School Governor and a Trustee of a charity focussed on helping children for poor backgrounds develop.

"We are old and we are new.  When you get to a certain age, you seem to become invisible. The high street stops catering for you, and the music industry stops providing music for you.  It’s always nice to watch pretty young kids singing about teenage angst and rebellion but their life experience lacks the depth and realism that years of 9 to 5 brings to most of our lives. That’s where we think we come in.  We aim our music at the 30 upwards bracket just by living in the same world that they do.

Our lyrics are succinct and have bite. We relate to the market that still buys recorded music, still buys downloaded music and goes to concerts and has spending power.  Moscow for Pleasure is a five piece with a big sound. A defined melodic groove coming from tight bass and drums overlaid with crunching guitar and keyboards, supporting the powerful yet subtle voice of Keiran Moses. 

Rather uniquely, we played together in our early twenties and exactly the same line-up has now reformed with new material.  We were not musically mature back then and our lyrics lacked depth – not everyone matures at the same speed.  Since then, each member has seen life as it is and the roller coaster ride endured makes us who and what we are.  We're not wet-nosed puppies, we're experienced and it takes a lot to impress us, so we work hard and know what to listen to and what to discard. We may not be long in the music business but we're seasoned in life.

The band has worked with a very impressive musical support team including two well-known and highly successful music producers, Stuart Colman and Stephen Harris.  Between them they have worked with acts as diverse as Santana, U2, Kodaline and Kaiser Chiefs to The Shadows, Shakin' Stevens to Kate Bush.  Stuart is immersed in the music business in New York whilst Stephen works from his home in rural East Yorkshire where he mixes and produces for all the world's major record labels and has won a number of Grammys.

Having run a VERY successful, always profitable and leading Creative Marketing agency in Yorkshire for the last 27 years, I’ve built up a detailed knowledge of numerous industry types.

I’m very experienced in all forms of marketing and digital is a speciality.

It’s my mission to support the boards, the management team and the shareholders of businesses across The UK and Europe.

I focus on what the businesses are good at, really good at and what maybe they shouldn’t be doing.

I help build value through helping the business leaders focus on what’s REALLY important. This approach builds long term, sustainable businesses that are profitable, have good and happy clients and customers, a repeatable sales funnel and a workforce that is dedicated to the organisation and its strategy

I only like to work with organisations where I see I can make an impact.

When I’m not doing this I like to keep my Spanish fluent and my golf handicap just right!
