Jon established and built Optoro’s product marketing function and team, which was charged with planning and executing the go-to-market for the company’s SaaS solutions for reverse logistics.

Optoro's cloud-based Reverse Logistics Platform enables retailers to maximize inventory value, streamline the entire reverse supply chain, while also reducing environmental waste. The company is venture backed by leading VCs, including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Revolution Growth, and UPS.

Opower

Jon led product marketing and strategy for Opower's (IPO in 2014; acquired by Oracle in 2016) international business and was responsible for new product development and go-to-market strategy for markets across Europe, Asia Pacific and Japan. Prior roles included owning strategic projects focused on growing Opower's core business, Demand Side Management, as well as standing up marketing and scaling the company's new Asia Pacific business in 2013.

Opower is the leading provider of customer engagement and energy efficiency cloud services to utilities around the globe. After an IPO valued at $1B in April 2014, the company was acquired by Oracle in June 2016.

Jon advised Fortune 500 clients across various industries, including consumer & industrial products, power & utilities, energy, healthcare, life sciences, and banking; engagement highlights include:

Pricing & Profitability Management: Jon specialized in pricing strategy and implementation including co-leading a business unit within a Fortune 500 industrial products company in designing and implementing new pricing structures, resulting in 5% annual EBITDA improvement.

Mergers & Acquisitions / Post-Merger Integration: Jon managed the Transitional Service Agreement and supported product launches for over 150 countries during the global product integration between two Fortune 100 life sciences companies.

Corporate Development: Jon developed the business case and prepared investment briefs for Deloitte's first in-house SaaS company, ConvergeHEALTH, resulting in $36M to stand up the life sciences startup. He also supported initial partnership deals with various health systems for the SaaS startup.

India Development Foundation (IDF) is a privately funded, non-profit, research foundation set up as a Trust. Its major objective is to develop awareness about how markets work, why these are desirable and how these can be developed. Its aim is to help policy makers transform emerging economies into market-based societies. 

While working with IDF, Jon researched the capacity of micro-lending contracts to alleviate poverty and produced a working paper entitled, "Does the Access to Both Individual- and Joint-liability Lending Better Equip the Poor to Escape the Poverty Trap?” and also supported a village-wide survey to track the progress of a 6,000-person rural village as part of a four-year research project studying inclusive growth and sustainable development.
