𝐎𝐊 𝐛𝐮𝐭… 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫?

No. About 1–3% of the 750 million Excel users are true power users. Excel isn’t built for us. Harbor does the heavy lifting outside Excel and refactors those changes back into your Excel files.

The browser is both a development platform and a viewing space. But heavy web dev happens outside the browser, in a dedicated tool like VS Code or Cursor. Harbor is that tool for Excel.

Excel is still the best even at 40 
Sorry Google Sheets, you have some growing up to do.

To my non-native English speakers, you don't need AI for regular interactions. 

I mean, yes, of course, I say this from a place of having learned English as my first language. But, here on Linkedin, embrace your knowledge gap: spelling and grammar errors are only a problem if I can't understand what you're saying - 99.9% of the time I can. There are those on the internet who love to criticize the writing of others, well to hell with them. I work with a global audience, and I truly don't care. Come as you are. 

I make mistakes. My books are full of typos (sorry about that!)

I'm learning Portuguese with a tutor. And then, I am constantly corrected by both my Portuguese and Brazilian friends ("no, say it this way!"). Make mistakes and see the humor in them. 

Anyway, this issue goes beyond the AI slop of LinkedIn comments, which are definitely annoying. I go to the startup forums on reddit and folks can't even ask a question about their company without using AI. I teach an MBA course in another country, and I say to the class: I won't ding you for grammar erros related to your understanding of English. Just don't copy and paste ChatGPT for your homework. 

They do it anyway. 

The problem isn't AI. The problem is your desire to sound perfect, and the insecurity of someone pointing out you're not. But none of us are. AI may solve some issues, but AI is worse in its own way: it make you sound like your full of sh*t. 

If you want to connect with people, you have to be willing to be sound imperfect. If you can't leave a relevant comment on someone's post on Linked, then don't. If you can't ask for help without ChatGPT, then take the time to think about the question.
