I am a research scientist with over 10 years of experience in molecular and cell biology, passionate about understanding and visualizing the inner workings of the cell. In my role as a scientist, I successfully acquired extramural funding to that supported my 5+ published research manuscripts spanning the study of many biological mechanisms like membrane protein trafficking, histone modifications, and starvation stress responses. To study these mechanisms I have used multiple model systems (e.g. bacteria, yeast, cell culture, mouse models). Together, this breadth of experiences highlight my science career as one of active innovation; diving into very variable systems while producing high quality research. In parallel to my research, I also developed as teacher, mentor and science communicator. As a graduate student and postdoc, I taught Cell & Molecular Biology topics in undergraduate courses. As a mentor I trained team members of varied experience levels in literature review, sample preparation, protocol optimization and data analysis. In this mentorship role, I engaged with a wide range of learners to hone my ability to distill complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible explanations—whether I'm presenting my research to a room full of experts or to my parents. Together with a solid foundation in molecular biology, microscopy, and data analysis, these skills propel me to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and teaching for efficient science communications.
