Built and led organizations to drive the design, upgrade and integration of the company’s business systems and infrastructure, enabling Duke Energy to compete in the deregulated industry segments of electric transmission, distribution and customer service.  Transformed business unit IT organization through strategic use of technology to compete in increasingly open and deregulated markets.
Responsible for annual budget of $75 million and 135 people.

The Footwear Division was under-performing in both top line growth and its cost structure as benchmarked against competitors.  Hired as part of an overhaul of the division’s strategy, organization, and competitive positioning. Reported to the Vice President and CIO.

Directed the IT organization for the division’s Finance, Human Resources functions, and infrastructure services across 10 locations. Led and facilitated development of Information Technology tactical and strategic plans, technology architecture, and key internal IT processes.  Aligned overall IT capabilities plans with business objectives. Established program management and control processes for major IT initiatives.
Managed operating budget of $29 million and staff of 40 people.

$2.1 billion provider of information and customer care products and services.  

Company was experiencing strong growth in the newly de-regulated telecommunications industry. The organization required outside expertise with knowledge of competitive environments at both the national and global levels.  In addition, there was a need to create strong collaborative partnerships with senior executives within the company as well as with key customers.

Built organization to manage development, implementation and support of high volume telecommunications customer care systems for multiple national and international carriers generating $7 million worth of annual revenue.  Managed staff of 30 people, focused on delivering consulting, applications development and maintenance services using custom mainframe based solutions.

Directed applications development and technology support functions for P&G Mexico subsidiary and global headquarters in Cincinnati.  Managed 25 staff members, providing information services for new product launches, optimization of supply-chain processes, and strengthening of company’s customer-supplier relationships.
