I am a science and health communications professional passionate about all areas of science. I enjoy learning and reading scientific publications during free time and often share new papers I’m interested in here. I’m most interested in advances in science and technology that can be used to address the greatest biomedical and environmental challenges currently facing society. Scientific and medical writing experience and interests: The bulk of my writing experience focuses on the themes of Precision Oncology ( Biomarker Targeted Therapies and Molecular Diagnostics) and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. I have completed multiple clinical genomics marketing writing projects for companies like Illumina Clinical Oncology, writing marketing pieces on their solid tumor and liquid biopsy NGS assays. Past cancer research and microbial genomics research experience: Prior to working in science and health communications, I worked in molecular biology and genomics research for over 10 years- primarily applied to microbial genomics and cancer genomics research. I have hands-on experience with a wide range of NGS methods such as WES (Whole Exome Sequencing), RNA sequencing (SMART3-Seq, Whole transcriptome).
