Around the age of 11, I began to want to be 'something' in life. I began to want to do a whole lot of fantastic stuff in the world — a small man who wanted to be a whiz in arts with the world as his stage. I felt that art is life, so I put in all my ardour and wanted to be a great artist — calligraphy, sport, music, literature, drama, adventure, and artistry, to name a few. But academia and life's uncertainties hamstrung it along the line because I never got to the promised land even though I had my moments. I turned away from arts at 15, but somehow, the arts never left me. And every now and then I have imitations of certain types of arts like surrealism and aesthetic experience. That made me read up the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, and René Magritte, and even ignore my benign flair for symbolic logic, and got my thesis on Arthur Schopenhauer's aesthetic experience admitted during my last days in college. Another kink that grips me in the arts is the rendezvous of nature's elements, images of empty cities, skyscrapers mere spikes of emptiness soaring over desolate cities. I watched stunts like sky diving, surfing, and deep scuba diving put up by Hollywood, and I clipped my mind to the risks they take to give us reality as entertainment, and I wanted to do those. I wanted to dare. I imagine rivers dry up so the foundations of bridges and wharves could be exposed, and all those hidden skeletons stacked under bridges become visible in complete silence. Superheroes masked in novel costumes, endowed with some rare superpowers with just one supreme shine to save the world in a grand style. Trust me, I couldn't want to be anything else. Vast spaces stretch forth, draped in silence so that the one life that shows up creates an incredible meaning around itself as the essence of all we have built. Arts was a thing, and till now, I think the hauntings may not end anytime soon. I am a philosopher, aesthete, writer, storyteller, and designer. Arts, Passion, Love, Logic, and Vision drive all I do.
