Chief Product Officer

Responsible for product strategy, portfolio roadmap and global product team for a SaaS portfolio generating $150M in annual revenue with 1.1K enterprise customers and 6.3M active users across 85+ countries. Set direction of travel for product portfolio to ideally serve target geographic and vertical markets around the globe. Manage a multitude of areas including product management and strategy, market research, transformational leadership, build, buy and partner evaluations and more. Collaborate with management and leadership professionals to ensure alignment with goals. 

Strategic product investments resulted in more than doubling recurring revenue during my tenure.

My experience in Entrepreneurship has inspired my career in Software Development in the Cloud Computing space. At WorkForce we utilized Agile Methodologies (SCRUM) and all product development was grounded in the User Experience (UX), Analytics and Business Analysis which we executed through Cross-functional Team Leadership.

Responsible for evaluating new opportunities to deliver value to our customers in the retail pharmacy market and supporting a culture of innovation at our Pharmacy Systems and Automation business unit. Also responsible for our services business across all segments.

Director, Product Management & Innovation

Responsible for managing our PharmacyRx™ pharmacy management system business. PharmacyRx™ is a fully integrated, centrally hosted (cloud) solution that is in use by more than 700 retail independent, outpatient, and small chain pharmacies across the country. The innovative cloud application processes more 2 million prescription transactions per month and touches the lives of more than 2 million patients each year.

Product Manager, PharmacyRx™

Financial Management: P&L responsibility for $38MM in annual revenue and $18MM gross margin ($15MM EBIT). Nearly doubled the financial contribution of the services business during my nearly five year tenure with McKesson (2006 annual revenue for Business Services was ~$20MM). Repeatedly delivered double digit annual growth through market driven new product development, sales leadership, focused marketing efforts, strategic business development and effective tactical execution.

Product Management: Reinvented, reorganized and energized a collection of disparate services into a cohesive portfolio that delivers clear value to our customers and the business. Recruited, hired, organized and managed a talented and successful Product Management Team. Successfully launched several new offerings into the market place that enhance the value of the business in the eyes of the customer while reducing attrition and improving the bottom line.

Sales & Account Management: Rebuilt, reorganized and managed a Sales Team to execute on deep market and customer penetration resulting in four years of exceeding stretch sales goals and fueling financial success. Contributed $18MM in total contract value sales bookings for fiscal year 2011. Launched a program to ensure all customer touch points are being used to effectively communicate the value of our services and generate sales leads resulting in a $6MM annual uplift. Successfully implemented an Account Management role to support our customers in the chain market and ensure high retention rates.

Business Development: Fueled growth through the effective management of existing and the strategic development of new business partnerships. Expanded services into adjacent markets and new segments. Successfully supported the acquisition and integration of a large competitor. Built relationships that leverage the strengths of other McKesson business units to broaden our reach and improve access to new customers.

Upscale cocktail lounge (Pulse Detroit) in the heart of downtown Detroit. Developed concept, conducted market research and constructed business plan. Personally raised private equity funding to finance the venture. Lead interior design and general contracting of renovations. Executed business plan and continually strive to met our commitments to investors and business partners. Website design and maintenance. Email marketing campaigns. Marketing, advertising and promotions. Lead ongoing investor relations, merger, acquisition and possible divestiture efforts. Adapted business plan and operations to meet the challenges of the economic downturn.

Talk America

Research and development for new product concepts. Developed, launched and managed the Talk America commercial data product portfolio. Responsible for the P&L on $12MM business segment. Grew product lines and ensured the business plan objectives were consistently achieved and exceeded. Identified and implemented operational process improvements that produced higher profits and happier customers. Executed Business Development activities to facilitate build, buy or partner decisions. Developed go to market strategies for new products and new market penetration. Delivered weekly product management reporting directly to executive management team. Coordinated with engineering department to develop product specifications and manage launch schedule. Subject matter expert and evangelist for all commercial data service offerings.

LDMI Telecommunications

Developed, launched and managed a portfolio of commercial data services targeted at the small to medium business market. Supported the transition of the organizations business model from a local and long distance phone company to a full service commercial integrated communications provider. Trained and supported sales organization as they made their move from price based selling to application based solutions and strategic selling. Opened four new markets in Michigan and Ohio with new product introductions, sales training and associated marketing campaigns. Coordinated a major operational support system migration for entire product portfolio. Lead sales support for all commercial data services. Business development and contract negations for third party wholesale and resale service offerings.

I began my career building clone personal computers, installing local area networks, running return authorizations and doing deliveries. As the compnay grew, I created the Inside Sales and Sales Support Departments. Later, I  launched and managed the Product Development & Management organization. Implemented the operational product development methodology and commercialization process. Developed, launched and managed a portfolio of commercial data services target at the medium to large enterprise market. Helped to transform the organizations business model from a project based, time & materials revenue stream into a major B2B Ecommerce, Application and Internet service provider. Converted technical capabilities into subscription based service offerings. Product training and support. Product collateral design and development. Business planning with profit and loss responsibility. Business Development and negotiations for all third party applications and service components. Project planning and management of engineering resource and implementation team.
