Working closely with architects, project partners and other stakeholders to develop and implement communications strategies. Primarily this involves cultivating good contacts with print and online editors and sharing key projects with specific outlets to further my clients' objectives.

Write and edit features on behalf of senior directors for placement within national media outlets. As an integral part of my clients' broader business development aims, I locate relevant speaking opportunities and options for B2B networking, ensuring they are fully prepared to present work well. Auditing and optimising clients' digital presence, directly implementing design changes or supervising external designers for more substantial projects. 

Conceptualise and launch events for press, communities and end-users of client buildings. Identify and liaise with social housing or private tenants as part of post-occupancy reporting. Arranging interviews and photography with residents and TMO's.

The role involved working across all sectors, primarily in and around the West-Midlands region, with some projects based in London and the South-East. Project scale in the range of £1m - £50m. Mixed Use, Commercial (Food & Retail) Multi-Unit Residential, Office and Commercial, as well as Refurbishment and Conservation.

In the case of more commercial projects (retail kiosks or commercial units) , my role involved the initial assessment of site capacity as well as the production of feasibility studies, in partnership with the project architect Steve Davis. 

I was also able to assist during planning applications, ensuring that projects met with the LA criteria and that the practice stand point on the design merits was put across clearly and succinctly. This came to the fore especially in the case of a large home extension in North Birmingham which had been refused in the care of other architects and had been taken to appeal.

Over the year I was able to prepare drawings at  developed design stages on several projects. Preparing drawings for planning applications and client review.Main pragrams used: Sketchup, Autocad,
Kerkythea and Photoshop.

Glancy Nicholls Architects

Whilst at Glancy Nicholls I was able to work on a broad range of projects including education and community projects. 

The main part of my role was centred on education Projects such as St Joseph's Primary school. On these sorts of projects I was tasked to develop and crosscheck design elements against building regulations and standards. 

I was also able to use my knowledge of 3D drafting programs to develop visualisations of the projects and finalize them in VRay.

Other Tasks included

Producing /maintaining other documents using programmes such as Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Photoshop.
— Participating in design debate
— Researching products, materials, buildings etc as directed
— Making presentations within practice to staff on projects
— Operating standard filing systems within office for drawings and correspondence
