• Designed and coordinated data collection, analysis, and reporting for numerous large-scale research studies involving 200+ participants and 800+ hours of testing/observation that contributed new knowledge about the relationship between memory, cognition, and brain function 
• Applied state-of-the-art multivariate analysis and machine learning algorithms to justify research claims from large, high-dimensional data sets including survey, behavioral metrics, electrophysiological recordings, and functional neuroimaging data
• Conduct usability tests, in-depth interviews, surveys, and A/B testing to improve the quality of the final research designs, thus improving the impact and reliability of the scientific findings
• Established lab-wide pipelines for the organization, visualization, and statistical modeling of behavioral and neuroscience data using MATLAB and R
• Spearheaded the addition of new technology (TMS neuromodulation), including developing protocols and technical documentation, that advanced strategic initiatives and created new research opportunities
• Communicated research to non-technical audiences and community organizations using easy-to-understand language and visualizations that improved scientific understanding and increased impact of scientific findings
• Trained, managed, and collaborated with 4 research staff on participant recruitment, data collection, and data analysis that increased the speed of completing and improved data quality of research projects

• Collected and analyzed data from 1000+ human subjects in 20+ experiments that produced new insights about human memory using mathematical and statistical modeling of human behavior, including collection of self-report measures (online and in-person surveys), behavioral metrics, and functional neuroimaging
• Built open-source software, from establishing project timeline to creating documentation for end-user training, for the scientific community to align mathematical models with observed response data in MATLAB (https://github.com/jdkoen/roc_toolbox/) that created standardization of this analysis across the field; this tool has been used in 74 projects according to Google Scholar
• Managed and trained a team of 6 student volunteer research assistants in recruiting participants (online and phone calls), running experimental protocols with participants, and organizing data to ensure high quality data collection
