Target

Accomplishments as part of the Wireless Engineering team:

- Effectively designed, deployed and maintain distribution center wireless networks at all Target facilities across North America. 
- Implemented new monitoring and management tools and procedures to ensure stability and standardizations across all wireless platforms.
- Developed automation processes for inventory tracking and ticketing systems
- Designed and deployed BYOD/Team Member hotspot network throughout all Target headquarter locations.
- Completed three major wireless lifecycle events at both Target headquarter and Distribution Centers.

Wireless Network Engineer

Delta Air Lines

As a Sr. Wireless Network Engineer for Delta Airlines my accomplishments include:

- Lead Analyst in a team of 2 who design, implement, configure, manage, and support enterprise wireless hardware, software, wireless client devices, and management systems.
- Responsible for advanced indoor and outdoor enterprise WLAN administration, design, and support. Mesh networks, point to point, and point to multi point networks located at major airports, corporate campus buildings, and hangers for the airline.
- Monitor, document, and control infrastructure performance for response, throughput and availability.
- Resolve escalated wireless support issues related to WLAN RF interference issues, hardware issues, infrastructure issues, and client issues all in a time sensitive production environment.
- Rolled out worldwide wireless hot spot network while at the same time introducing new technologies to the company adhering to corporate standards.
- Redesigned and implemented new wireless network at the Minneapolis airport utilizing existing infrastructure, while keeping production network up and running. Project was under budget, completed early, all while having zero down time to the end user.
- Co-Manage deployment, testing, and certification of code updates for production wireless systems, such as Cisco IOS, Cisco Wireless Controller, Cisco LWAPP.
- Plan, coordinate, and deploy wireless networks with outside wireless vendors. Review contracts, SLA agreements, and provide escalated support between business groups and wireless vendors.

Northwest Airlines

As the lead Wireless Network Engineer for Northwest Airlines some of my accomplishments included:

- Upgrade existing enterprise wireless infrastructure, introducing Cisco wireless WLAN controllers with accompanying Cisco LWAPP hardware.
- Convert from Cisco VX works based access points to modern updated Cisco IOS firmware.
- Configure and monitor Cisco IOS software on Cisco access points using Cisco WLSE..
- Support various operational departments using enterprise WLAN infrastructure.
- Conduct routine monthly wireless security analysis, performance monitoring tasks, update support documents and report overall wellness of the wireless network.
- Assisted project teams to conduct infrastructure upgrades to the WLAN networks at various airports.

American Express Financial Advisors

As one of the most senior level support analysts my accomplishments included: 

- Provide tier 3 technical support for over 11,500 financial advisors nationwide.
- Intensive testing of pre-production software, systems and hardware prior to national roll out.
- Guided efforts to transition many high priority remote offices to new VPN technologies.
- Facilitate the migration from windows 98 to windows XP on a nationwide level.
- Successfully migrated from software base VPN connectivity to router based VPN connectivity by deploying Csico 831 SOHO routers. 
- Ensured timely communication with clients for all network issues and regular status updates for problematic areas.
- Regularly joined ad hoc teams to properly diagnose, prepare for, and remedy systemic problems.
- Support, troubleshoot, and solve issues with financial advisor software suite. 
- Maintain proper windows operation and internet connectivity

- Manager of the support call center for Dialup and Wireless ISP.
- On call 24/7 for monitoring wireless infrastructure, ISP operations, and systems servers
- Install, support and monitor wireless point to point CPE equipment.
- Maintain wireless network infrastructure with monthly checks. 
- Assist with on site wireless site surveys, installs of fixed wireless network.
- Responsible for all technical support for business class customers.
- Monitor daily usage of T1 and frame relay infrastructure.

Over 20 years of experience primarily focusing on wireless technologies throughout my career. I love building things, I love solving problems, and getting deep into the weeds.  Well rounded understanding of all aspects of network engineering.

I love learning new things and working within the technology field and it's ever changing technology, feeds that need to learn.

The breadth of my experience ranges from Educational customers, Industrial/warehouse customers, along with past work experience gaining in-depth knowledge of the Airline and retail industry. 

When I am not working, you can find me participating in competitive bass fishing. Living in the "land of 10,000 lakes" Minnesota has some of the best bass fishing available. I love being out doors and especially on the water, it is a great way to decompress and enjoy the outdoors.
