GSG brought me on to work specifically with a high-value client, a subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Investments, on the consolidation and accounting platform unification of 3 acquisitions, impacting 500 employees. I lead the training and development work stream for the project as well as others, including change management.

➟ Identified training needs to meet stakeholder requirements, crafting a vision of the desired outcome and determining the steps necessary to achieve it. Created a training plan that will equip end users with systems training and ensure day-one readiness.

➟ Meet regularly with Change Agents on an ongoing basis to provide important project details and gather feedback about the effectiveness of project communication, training, user access testing, etc. Administered multiple project surveys to solicit feedback to provide to the Project Management Office (PMO).

Pacific Premier Bank

Following Pacific Premier Bank’s acquisition of Opus Bank, I was retained and appointed to lead the 6-person Training team comprising members from each bank with an emphasis on conversion training aimed at familiarizing Opus Bank employees with the systems, policies, procedures, and culture of Pacific Premier Bank. 

➟ Facilitated conversion training over a 3-month period, which involved integrating the banks and addressing concerns/apprehensions of the employees affected by the change. Ensured the training not only familiarized the team with new systems and processes, but also alleviated fears and uncertainties.

➟ Redesigned and developed training classes from scratch, including basic teller training, new accounts training, and comprehensive new-hire onboarding, incorporating career development opportunities and defining clear paths for progression within the bank. 

➟ Launched a sales training program—where none previously existed—that emphasized enhancing bankers' soft sales skills, customer service abilities, objection handling, research, networking, and relationship-building techniques.

➟ Shifted position focus to the Pacific Premier Trust SWP System Conversion Project (a trust accounting platform conversion). Collaborated with the vendor and Trust company to develop a comprehensive training program for the project that minimized the potential impact on customers and maintained a seamless transition.

➟ Drove the implementation of a learning management system (LMS) and e-Learning Solution – Articulate 360 and Storyline 360.

First Vice President | Enterprise Training Manager

Opus Bank

As the Retail Banking Training Manager, I led the development, design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs for Opus Bank’s Retail Banking division while leading a team of 4 direct reports.

➟ Provided training and feedback to Retail Banking Training Officers on instructional design, facilitation, and project management of the training program. 

➟ Established mechanisms to track training attendance and provide feedback on training sessions to enable better monitoring and assessment of training effectiveness.

➟ Created a mentorship program for managers, which involved pairing them with high-performing managers to facilitate their development and growth. 

➟ Implemented the Gold Tier Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) program, an initiative that involved new software to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Developed a comprehensive training plan within a tight timeline to educate ~250 employees on using the new software. Conducted and oversaw ~30 training sessions ahead of go-live.

➟ Spearheaded the training effort during the Opus Bank acquisition by Pacific Premier Bank to deliver teller, product, new accounts, systems, policies and procedures, and reporting training to 40+ retail banking branches and ~200 employees.

Upon the referral of my former training instructor, I joined the L&D team and excelled under the guidance and close mentorship of seasoned professionals with decades of experience.

➟ Piloted and launched brand-new training programs in partnership with instructional designers and facilitators. Played a crucial role in the formalized new-hire onboarding program (Client Service Academy) for the private banking group by shaping the curriculum and delivering training sessions to the first class and beyond. 

➟ Delivered in-person and virtual online workshops and training courses, with expertise in leading classes in sales skills, business development, advanced consumer and business credit, customer experience, and technical systems training.

When I first joined Union Bank, I was selected for the prestigious, yearlong Management Training Program (MTP) that covered various aspects of banking, including sales, customer service, leadership, coaching, mentoring, small business banking, and commercial banking. 

➟ Completed rotations in multiple markets, gaining exposure to diverse clientele and honing skills to become a well-rounded banker.

➟ Served as a banker for 3 years before joining the private bank group in 2012, which catered to high-net-worth individuals (HNWI); provided white glove service to clients with assets exceeding $1M, including ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI), with assets in excess of $3M.

➟ Analyzed data to make recommendations as to exposure and possible risk to the bank; new accounts, global treasury management, legal documentation review, wire transfers, overdraft conditions, and uncollected funds usage.
