Yaama (hello) I'm Josie, a proud Gomeroi Woman! I am a CPA and a Commercial Analyst at HeliMods on the Sunshine Coast QLD. HeliMods is a world-leading provider of aircraft special mission systems and equipment, dedicated to the rapid delivery of innovative, flexible configurations, both up-front and through-life. Prior to moving into commercial accounting and whilst completing my studies, I worked in a tax, business advisory and analytics roles . I have completed my CPA and bachelor of business, majoring in accounting as well as my Certificate IV in Small Business Management. I have a passion for education and empowerment for all things strategy, cashflow and data analytics and taking control of you and your businesses financial well-being and future, driven by innovative technology and thinking. I have a strong connection to community, not only geographically but also withing the accounting, finance, tech and aerospace industries, as well as prioritising engagements for our emerging generations. I am also lucky enough to sit on the Executive Committee of the Sunshine Coast Young Chamber of Commerce. We are a group of young, driven professionals making a positive impact on the Sunshine Coast. The SCYCC is a platform that I am so proud to be a part of. Upon graduating from my CPA, I joined CPA's Indigenous Advancement Committee (QLD Division). This had been a goal of mine since learning of underrepresentation of Indigenous accountants in 2018. I strive to encourage the accounting and finance industry as a career pathway, particularly for Indigenous students. I am a board member for the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce where I am able to assist in making meaningful change, right here in my home community, with a focus on sustainability for emerging and future generations. Outside of the office, I am an ambassador for World Gym Caloundra. I am excited to be a part of this emerging generation of accountants, the Sunshine Coast and the aerospace world and love to connect with likeminded people!
