Hello! My name is Judith (Judy). I am a bilingual mental health practitioner and founder of Monarchs Therapy, a virtual mental health therapy practice in California. I’m also co-founder of Palomas Ink, LLC, a consulting firm promoting social justice and mental health through the art of writing and other creative therapeutic arts modalities. I have spent most of my professional career in the non-profit sector serving various leadership roles in the field of training and development and in-service to children, youth, adults, and their respective families in and through community-based mental health. I recently co-authored my first children’s book, Maral & Lupita: A Celebration of Friendship, which includes themes of diversity, mental health, and friendship. I’m passionate about helping people grow into their best selves; it is indeed what drives me. I believe everyone has innate beauty and potential waiting to be unleashed when they feel seen, heard, loved, and whole. I’m a social worker at heart and actively involved in my community. I enjoy engaging in various philanthropic and service organizations, such as the Glendale Latino Association and the Rotary Club of Mental Health & Wellness. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from California State University Northridge (CSUN). My professional research interests include public health policy and the holistic treatment of trauma, depression, and anxiety-related disorders. In my spare time, I enjoy going on nature and urban hikes, traveling, reading, writing, gardening, and binge-watching my favorite shows. Above all, I love spending time with my family, friends, and two senior fur babies, Pinot and Geo.
