When I first started my journey in becoming a builder, I knew nothing. Here is what I did to change that: 1. Faked a tech startup idea, watched a few pitch videos and got myself into a accelerator program to surround my self with smart people. Got destroyed by a few tough mentors, and was afraid of how smart STEM builders were as a non-technical builder myself, stopped building after 8 weeks — It was intimidating. 2. Started working in corporate as an successful intra-preneur/PM where I got to build and manage products without the personal risk, and realized I really loved it. 3. Covid happened. Decided to start a company again, pitched a talented dev friend of mine, and in 3 months we built a scalable cloud desktop as a service company with a raspberry pi (chromecast-like) for any HDMI screen to become a PC for only $6.99 a month. We launched this beta in highschools for students during Covid that needed access to computer labs. We closed this down realizing the margins were low, technical limitation in streaming, and that we just weren’t the team to solve this. 4. During Covid, I anticipated the introduction of mandatory Masks. Bought masks, and iPhone chargers and then out of the blue I had 100s of orders from FB marketplace. Made over $10k+, and put that into stocks ($NIO/$AMC Cus the EV/WSB craze). Turned that into $120k in 3 months, then jumped into penny stocks and it dropped to 10k. Later I analyzed the crypto $DOGE craze, and picked $SHIBA as the psychology alternative and invested 10k there and waited 6 months, and it turned to $130k. Guess what I did again 😂 5. Got a chance to start teaching entrepreneurship at a university for Masters/PhD students, and learned how to talk and pitch to over 90 students in my cohort — This earned me lots of confidence, and that my style of teaching had intensely positive feedback as I taught from a place of growth mindset and real practical experiences. 6. While mentoring graduates whose startups were in blockchain, I was got immersed into technical infrastructures, protocols, tokens, smart contracts, and NFTs. Although, I realized a huge problem was apparent. It was super tough to understand all this and start especially as a non-technical person. So, I spent 10 hours a day (research/thinking) for 4 months, hypothesizing, iterating, how to make blockchain/Web3/crypto more accessible for the everyday person, and Masma was born. We will be the worlds first step into Web3 with a completely unique and abstracted solution to a trillion dollar gap problem. Now it’s time for that 100,000x 😉
