About Next Step India

Next Step is a market discovery program that helps German startups validate the suitability of their business in new potential target markets in Asia. Through the program, startups gain first-hand market insights, explore individual business opportunities within the local ecosystem, and directly connect with potential customers and partners on the ground.

Next Step is powered by German Accelerator, which is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The initiative is part of the Innovation Package agreed and signed off by PM Modi and Chancellor Merkel in their 2019 consultations.

GINSEP (German Indian Startup Exchange Program)

The German Indian Startup Exchange Program (GINSEP) is a non-monetary platform initiated by the German Startups Association and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) to strengthen and foster the German-Indian economic relations in the field of startups. The main aim of the GINSEP is to promote an exchange between both startup ecosystems. Within the GINSEP, the German Startups Association acts as a neutral intermediary channeling the information flow between the Indian and the German startup ecosystem. The GINSEP wants to support both German and Indian founders in their efforts to not only understand but ultimately be able to access the other country’s ecosystem. The GINSEP seeks to facilitate access to the German market for Indian startups and vice versa

Juliane, with a background in Germany, brings a wealth of experience from working, studying, and living in various European countries and India. Formerly successful in tech sales, she transitioned into startup support and internationalization. 

As a key figure in India’s largest accelerator, she played a pivotal role in building one of the first market entry accelerators in India for foreign startups. Her continuous commitment to India, working with German Accelerator and the EU-India Innocenter, has supported over 100 companies in exploring and entering the Indian market. 

Holding a German Diploma and a global Executive MBA, Juliane's strategic vision, attention to detail, and speed have facilitated agile market exploration. Today, her focus is on supporting businesses in sustainability & climate tech, mobility & logistics, health and life sciences, and various emerging tech sectors to enter India and address global challenges
