I was a commercial litigation associate and trial attorney whose practice focused on representing clients in the environmental and energy industries before the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey. I also gained experience representing clients in insurance coverage, toxic torts, real estate, and professional malpractice areas of the law. Selected representations include:

-First-chaired two commercial litigation jury trials: obtained jury verdict awarding 100% of damages in one and negotiated favorable settlement in the other after trying case to substantial completion.

-Second-chaired bench trial of multi-million dollar commercial litigation matter involving a leading insurance company buying back numerous environmental policies from insured.

-Part of team that drafted briefs securing pre-answer dismissal of two pipeline companies in action alleging responsibility for $25 million in damages resulting from MTBE contamination of drinking water wells.

-Worked on trial team that represented majority shareholder of publicly traded energy company in multi-million dollar litigation involving the sale of his majority stake.

-Obtained dismissal of Fortune 100 chemical manufacturer in two occupational exposure cases without answering any discovery.

-Negotiated and drafted $170,000 settlement of complicated insurance coverage matter where client was facing $900,000 in damages.

I handle cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States, and I have a track record of obtaining favorable results for clients in complex matters. As a counselor, I assist companies design and implement environmental compliance systems. 

Additionally, I co-chair B&D’s Environmental Justice (EJ) practice, where I help companies design and implement programs to proactively incorporate EJ considerations into business operations.
