Throughout my 17-year career in project management, change management, and event management, I’ve come to embrace my role as a “methodical architect”—a precise, reliable, and planful solver of problems. I thrive on combining innovative thinking with practical implementation, and it’s this approach that defines everything I do. As part of the PMO office at the Ohio Department of Health, I lead the change management side of projects, working closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions from current to future states. Whether it’s through careful stakeholder analysis, developing comprehensive training, or creating detailed communication plans, I approach each project with a methodical focus, ensuring that every solution is both innovative and actionable. After spending 8.5 years at JobsOhio, an economic development organization that provides grants and loans to companies to create jobs and payroll in Ohio, I returned to state service with renewed energy and a clear understanding of my strengths. The realization that change management perfectly aligns with my strengths as a methodical architect was a powerful “aha” moment for me. I hadn’t fully appreciated that the work I excel in—solving complex problems, developing structured plans, and ensuring their seamless execution—was exactly what change management is all about. What truly drives me is helping others realize their potential and sharing my knowledge with joy. I love taking on challenges, crafting solutions, and seeing them through to execution. As described by Patrick Lencioni and the authors of The Six Types of Working Genius, I’ve discovered that my natural working genius is that of the “methodical architect”—combining the genius of enablement and tenacity. I find immense satisfaction in planning out the steps needed to move from the current state to the future state and measuring the results of that journey. Every solution is approached with precision and reliability, blending creativity with the practical steps needed for success. In every role I take on, I bring this methodical, solution-oriented mindset to the forefront. Leading with joy, sharing knowledge, and building well-constructed paths to success are at the core of who I am and why change management resonates with me so deeply.
