Save Sight Now is an organization dedicated to finding a treatment for Usher Syndrome Type 1B. We partnered with the Foundation Fighting Blindness to identify and fund leading research to find a treatment for Retinitis Pigmentosa due to USH1B. We are a patient lead foundation mobilizing patients and families in order to create awareness and raise funding.

Currently a Principal Industrial Designer in the Fjord/Accenture San Francisco studio where I lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams. I'm helping to lead the effort of educating clients and spreading the value of our new Industrial Design capability within Fjord and Accenture while building and expanding our already talented and experienced team. Beyond leading multiple, fast paced projects my responsibilities span from early vision setting with clients and teams, to product development & oversight with manufacturers. We envision and shape products and services that simplify the complex for consumers and employees, and that work across multiple touch points. Matter is a SF design studio that fuses physical and digital design to produce holistic experiences that span hardware, software and services. We design physical and digital products, that are centered around user needs. As a Principal Industrial Designer I lead teams and designers on highly collaborative, convergent projects. Our teams work closely with clients - startups to fortune 500s - in order to understand their needs and define an informed vision together. When not managing teams I'm crafting and defining project proposals in order to secure vital business opportunities for our studio.

Upwell Design is my freelance identity that I established while consulting for 8 years in the Bay Area. I worked directly with clients, collaborated with amazing studios and brought products to market under the Upwell name. I touched every aspect of the design and production process while consulting, but was often hired for my ability to rapidly generate original concepts, translate design languages across product families, collaborate with engineers and oversee the DFM phase. Upwell Products

Upwell Products is an extension of the Upwell Design studio and is built around the product Walhub - A modular, functional light switch plate. We are a brand focused on solution based products for the home and mobile devices. Upwell Design partnered with a US manufacturer to form Upwell Products in order to bridge the gap between design concept to tangible product.

As the Owner of Upwell products I was responsible for everything: defining sales and marketing strategies and executing on them,  researching and identifying appropriate sales channels - online and brick-and-mortar.  I also designed weekly and seasonal marketing campaigns, as well as the assets to support the branding and marketing strategies. I executed a video marketing project - "Design Studio Upwell Hacks Ikea" that went viral online, resulting in over 80,000 youtube views, awarded best ad of the week by Ad Age (beating out Coca-Cola) and a TV interview on Right This Minute (http://www.rightthisminute.com/video/walhub-gorilla-marketing-ikea ), as well as countless publications all resulting in a 400% spike in sales that month. I built and managed our e-commerce site, defining the overall look and feel of the brand, as well managing our social media strategy and outlets. I oversaw and managed the health and traffic of our website leveraging SEO strategies an analytics to drive traffic. I oversaw the manufacturing of Walhub - and its 6 SKUs - on site with our injection molder, often offering suggestions on how to improve cycle times and production quality. I was also tasked with the design of our packaging system which received high praise and acknowledgment on the Dieline. Beyond product design I was responsible for the final part design for injection molding, and oversaw and managed quality control, production runs, ordering and fulfillment.

New Deal Design is a consultancy based in San Francisco, specializing in technology design, which combines strategic foresight, physical and digital design with engineering validation. We worked with a wide breath of clients: Fitbit, Google, Xfinity, Netgear, Dell and Better Place. I was a Lead Industrial Designer responsible for a wide range of tasks: managing design teams and partners, vision setting, defining internal deadlines and external schedules, design ideation and refinement, and DFM oversight. I was exposed to all steps of the design process; client kickoffs to final appearance models, and everything in between.

Pentagram Design, Inc.

Pentagram is an international design firm that redefines major companies leveraging multiple mediums like visual design, interaction design, environmental design, brand strategy/definition and product design. As a junior industrial designer I earned a significant amount of design responsibility, working mainly on high profile consumer electronics for Dell - redefining design language systems for their Latitude and Precision line of notebooks. Job responsibilities often included: trend research, concept development, design refinement through sketch and 3-D modeling, as well 3-D prototyping, rendering, preparing presentations, and consulting with engineers and managing deadlines.

Target

Working as a Home Decor designer for Target I designed furniture, storage systems and housewares. I contributed to identifying merging trends through extensive CMF research and translating these themes into tangible product lines. I also had the opportunity to work closely with product buyers, learning and understanding their practical and economic needs required for success within big box retail.

As a Senior Industrial Design Manager I love leading multi-disciplinary teams of designers and engineers. We craft thoughtful research experiments to uncover user needs which ultimately define our design and engineering guidelines. We rapidly create functioning experience prototypes to test and refine physical and digital solutions, invent bespoke user tests, and design and build custom analytic tools and processes all in an effort to discover the most intuitive, inclusive and accessible experiences to design for.
