I can remember the day that it all made sense. And if you just indulge me for a moment, I’ll explain. I remember how excited I was driving to my mom’s house so I could tell her my thoughts and get her opinion about this new revelation I had. After countless conversations where I encouraged women almost twice my age, helping them with budgets, life planning, inspiration, relationship advice, single mom advice, balancing motherhood, and school advice…. I got it, I wanted to leave school and give advice for a living! I ran in her apartment where she was watching my daughters while I attended community college. I kissed my babies, greeted my dad, and ran to talk to my mom. I let her know that I'd figure out how I wanted to spend my days as an adult. I wanted to be one of those people who was something like a motivational speaker, but with small groups of people and talking to individuals. (That was before I knew anything about coaching or lifestyle management). And, I remember the breath I took before she said, “girl please, you better keep going to college and be a teacher so you can have summers off for your children. Besides, no-one wants to hear what you have to say” What?!?! 😞 Her statements rang in my head for the next ten years before I realized that was not true. I had been so conflicted with my mother’s (well-meaning) words, but they had planted seeds of doubt, rejection, and even fear. Those words impacted my life in countless ways. But one day after a long talk with Jesus and a long look in the mirror, I’d realized that just wasn't true! Today, I work with female business owners to leverage experiences to grow their businesses while managing marriage, motherhood, and ministry. With a background in Organizational Leadership & Development, Psychology, and Diversity Management, I have developed a passion for bringing out the best in women as they navigate the balance between work, entrepreneurship, and home life. Together, we develop strategies to help them create alignment and harmony in all areas of life WITHOUT compromising their values or priorities.
