The day I decided to get into computer science was the day a friend told me that his job was essentially to figure out how to solve a problem and then build a tool that solved that problem thereafter. I kept programming because I became more and more fascinated by what can be learned from, and done with, data science. When I set out to enter the field of data science, I knew the only sustainable path for me, given my values, would have to involve working on problems that matter to our humanity and our planet.
