Kalema John is a Chef at Mestil Hotel, a leading hospitality provider in Uganda. He graduated with a Certificate in Hotel Management from YMCA Comprehensive Institute in May 2021, where he learned the fundamentals of catering and hospitality, business administration and management, and customer service. He also has skills and experience in IT management and sales marketing, which he acquired from his previous role as Head of Information Technology at UGA Finance, a financial services company. There, he supported the company's digital transformation, increased the online presence and revenue, and improved the customer satisfaction and retention rates. He is passionate about learning new technologies and applying them to enhance the quality and efficiency of his work. He is motivated by the opportunity to serve and delight the guests and customers with his culinary and interpersonal skills. He is looking for ways to advance his career and education in the hospitality industry, and to overcome the challenges he faced as an orphan.
