I have been a dedicated teacher for the last 20 years. I have extensive knowledge of software, Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Outlook. I am an experienced public speaker and curriculum designer. I am detail oriented and organized. I am a fast learner who can master any software. An avid grant writer, I use my skills to create an enhanced experience and enrichment to my gifted and regular students. I have served as a model teacher and have earned National Board Certification for English Language Arts/Young Adolescence and Young Adulthood. I feel that I am uniquely qualified to help students successfully navigate their college preparations. Currently I teach AP Language and Composition and 10th English Language Arts for Northside Independent School District. I use data driven instruction to create lessons for my students. I conduct administrative tasks and maintain detailed records of all of my students' achievements. I create assessments which are based on the state standards. I run a holistic classroom which is fun and engaging. I help struggling students with response to intervention and tutoring. I am a Teach UP Fellow for the state of Texas with an interest in legislation that will be beneficial to education, students and the retention of teachers. I am a U.S. Holocaust Museum Fellow who actively runs professional development for teachers on the guidelines for teaching about the Holocaust in the modern classroom. I participated as a member of Team Americorps and while in college at LSU I was a member of the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. I believe in being a service to the community.
