These are the cornerstones of good written communication and, happily, these “four Cs” are also the primary concern of every copy editor – that wonderful wordsmith who helps make your manuscript shine the way it is intended! More than just a second set of eyes to catch errors, as your copy editor I work to make your text or manuscript the best it can be, while maintaining your voice and vision. That means that it’s still all you, with a little bit of help from me. Am I the right copyeditor for you? Why should you hire me? In addition to being an editor I am also a writer (and always have been), as well as a voracious reader. They’re all wrapped up together for me, with the result that I have a genuine appreciation for good writing, and I know what makes it happen. As for Writing: The four Cs outlined above apply to all my writing, too, and we can add a fifth C to include “Creative”.
