Our KInds is the only reusable cup model that has not produced a cup. We are connecting the supply chain through collaboration to utilise and grow on what is already there. We are a movement that is proving that it is possible for a cafe to transition from 100% single use to 100% reuse. Of the 7 100% reuse cups cafes in Australia 3 are active in the Our Kinds movement. After just 12 months in market the Our Kinds is supporting 24 cafes across 4 states of Australia in this transition.

90Now is all about the future - for me, my family, my community, the world. It's about being fit for the future in every way. Developing creative, commercial opportunities that are of community in collaboration with thinkers and doers around the world -  children, students, artists, health professionals, rocket scientists...  And having fun as we go. 

My strategic, creative,  production and influencer skills, and my experience in working across sectors means that I can identify, shape, pitch and deliver new opportunities.

KidNest

KidNest is a subscription-based solution for creating local childminding ‘villages’ so parents can work, study and play. 

Using the app, families find or create Nests with like-minded parents / carers in their area, and take turns caring for the kids in the Nest on a rostered basis. After pre-approval checks (e.g., Working With Children and Police Checks, and Safety Checks on the home care environment — parents share the load of childminding between them, freeing them the rest of the week to work, study or play. And with a huge library of educational resources and support, easy messaging and planning tools in the app, and insurance and liability cover for each minder — KidNest becomes the smartest way to mind your kids and your money.

Melbourne Writers Festival

Since 1986, Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) has been a cornerstone of the city's literary culture. The festival's success – and that of the city’s writers, publishers and all those across the industry – has provided the opportunity for Melbourne’s community of readers and writers to grow and prosper.

Each year, MWF invites novelists, playwrights, poets, screenwriters, journalists, songwriters, bloggers – anyone who's part of the world of words. We host politicians and artists, policy wonks and pop culture icons, crime writers and high culture theorists. The festival program features an enormous range of literary activity including entertaining discussions, debates, readings, film screenings, interviews, literary banquets, performances, workshops and book launches, as well as a lively schools' program for primary and secondary students.

To all of these events, we welcome hundreds of guests from around the world and across the country, meaning we’re able to celebrate the work of the writers you love and surprise you with those you never knew existed. At the heart of every program remains the opportunity for writers and readers to connect in unexpected ways.

With the addition of Quality Manager to my portfolio I am responsible for the management of the quality management system at QEC. This incorpororates accreditation against Department of Human Services Standards (Human Services Standards) and  ISO 9001:2008. I achieve this by embedding continuous quality improvement throughout the organisation through the development of a quality team, quality working group and project teams that drive innovation and rigour locally.

QEC provides specialised care, support and guidance to help parents manage the many challenges that arise during early parenthood, from before birth until 2 years. Programs are designed to develop parenting competence and confidence, enabling families to nurture and protect their children and to enhance family health and development. 

As Marketing and Business Development Manager I am responsible for: 

- Leading strategic marketing, communication and business development initiatives across the organisation
- Building QEC's profile and relationships across corporate, philanthropy and community organisations 
- Extending reach across government departments 
- Providing consultancy to staff undertaking external communications, events and fundraising activities.

Anex

Anex is a leading national voice in the public health sector. Since our inception as an independent, non-profit organisation in the 1990s, we have worked to increase understanding and improve responses to the problems arising from the use of illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals and alcohol.

Whether it’s through strategies to prevent the transmission of blood-borne viruses, information campaigns, or the provision of training programs for workers at the front line of health and emergency services, Anex employs a scientific approach to addressing an issue that affects all levels of society.

Anex does not condone drug use but strives to protect people from drug-related harm when at their most vulnerable.

As Senior Manager Workforce, Industry and Community Programs I was responsible for the development, planning, marketing and delivery of: 

•	Anex Service Sector Capacity and Workforce Development Programs; 
•	Lucid at Work consulting and training packages for workplaces of all sizes and sectors; 
•	Lucid Drink Driver Education Programs and assessments, and
•	Community Awareness campaigns and events including International Overdose Awareness Day - 31 August 2013. 

These programs benefit from partnerships with government, corporate and philanthropic trusts. The development and management of these partnerships is a key focus.

Karen has operated at a senior level with various industry associations, media and experiential marketing agencies. She brings a broad range of marketing, sponsorship and production experience - and a huge amount of energy - to her role at Kojo.

A highly motivated, creative thinker, Karen is good at quickly finding solutions, conveying the vision to her client and her team and mapping the implementation pathways.

As the co-founder and CEO of Our Kinds, I have been leading a movement that is proving that it is possible for a cafe to transition from 100% single use to 100% reuse. Since June 2021, we have supported 24 cafes across 4 states of Australia in this shift, using a simple and innovative solution that connects the supply chain through collaboration. Our vision is to make the single use takeaway cup redundant, globally, and to change the consumption culture through design.

I am also the founder of 90Now, a platform that leverages my strategic, creative, production and influencer skills to identify, shape, pitch and deliver new opportunities for the future. I work across sectors and with diverse partners, from children and artists to health professionals and rocket scientists, to create projects that are fun, fit, and impactful. In 2018, I won two awards for my work on the Karitane Early Parenting Store and Untold, thanks to the amazing talent and generosity of the team at Neonormal and other partners.
