TV One

Head of Scripted Original Programming for cable television network based in 57 million homes. Developed over 50 made-for-TV movies, with the top rated movies winning the night with demographic. Ran all aspects of scripted series and made for television movie development along with production management for the network. Managed all areas of the development process including creative, production and post-production. Provided creative guidance on key hires and casting. Established and maintained industry relationships with agents, managers, showrunners, writers, directors, producers and talent. Shopped the creative marketplace, both traditional and non-traditional, for TV One brand-defining programming concepts or other creative properties that had scripted series and made for television movie potential and would resonate with the TV One audience.  Solicited, pitched and evaluated made for television movie and scripted series submissions. Brainstormed, researched and developed ideas originating both internally and externally. Ensured projects developed and ultimately produced for TV One enhanced the network’s brand identity, competitive standing, ratings and advertising sales. Coordinated development and show support with various departments within the network. Acted as network executive on select series and made for television movies. Traveled to and from sets to ensure all network needs were met. Also ran point on the annual TV One Screenplay competition done in association with the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), of which TV One was a title sponsor. Oversaw the network’s many activations at the festival, culminating with the announcement of the screenplay competition winner.

Ran Scripted Original Programming. Identified and developed scripted series and made for television movies for the network. Procured talent for projects, including writers, actors and directors.  Oversaw a scripted slate of numerous scripted series and made for television movies in various stages of development, cultivating from idea-to-treatment and finally, to script.
