Karen Ross began her career with Palermo, Landsman & Ross in 2005 and became a partner in 2014. With over 20 years of experience in tax compliance, she leads the firm’s dispute resolution practice at the local, state, and federal levels. Karen is passionate about helping entrepreneurs, businesses, and families navigate complex tax matters with clarity and confidence. As an Enrolled Agent— the highest credential awarded by the IRS—Karen is federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS. She earned her bachelor’s degree and Executive Master’s in Taxation (M.TX.) from Florida Atlantic University, grounding her practice in both technical skill and practical strategy. Karen specializes in sophisticated tax planning and compliance, delivering insights in a personable, relatable way. She’s known for her ability to bridge the gap between tax law and real-world impact, often serving as a “quarterback” during business transitions and succession planning. Deeply committed to service and community, Karen chairs the board of Children's Harbor, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring families and supporting teens in the foster system. She also supports a number of Broward County charities including The Crockett Foundation, The IDDeal Foundation, and a variety of others. A connector by nature, Karen actively networks to grow opportunities for her firm, colleagues and clients. Karen is also a contributing Thought Leader for The Daily Drip, where she collaborates with fellow female entrepreneurs to inspire and elevate women in business. Outside the office, Karen’s heart belongs to her family. She’s a hands-on mom cheering for her daughter’s dance teams and supporting her son’s college journey and Eagle Scout pursuit. She and her husband enjoy RVing through the Southeast, BBQing with friends, golfing as a family, and cooking traditional Italian Sunday suppers. Karen values the simple joys of connection, tradition, and time well spent.
