Syrup Tech

• Re-architected the entire syrup application to reduce bugs, increase platform stability, and allow for 
   scalable development.
• Improved API response time by about 10x, going from 60s to 5s for long-running responses.
• Implemented alerting feature that automatically alerted users if inventory was inconsistent. Reduced 3 
   hours of manual checking to 10 minutes.
• Rapidly iterated on customer feedback for pilot customers, resulting in 100% conversion rate.
• Increased security of the web app by using AWS secret management services instead of plain-text 
   storage.
• Worked with S3 and elastic BeansTalk to configure web applications to ensure smooth process and

Customer Lifetime Value:
• Built tree-based models (Random Forest, XGBoost, and Light Gradient Boosted (LGBM)) to predict customer lifetime value through data cleaning, feature engineering, and hyperparameter tuning and feature importance by SHAP and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and reduced Mean Square Error (MSE) from 123,000 to 45,000 compared to the company’s existing customer lifetime model.
Baseline Model for TV ads:
• Improved the company’s baseline model to predict the impact of TV ads using the Wavelet transformation model,
DWT, which solved existing baseline problems of loess smoothing. The model solved the problem of overestimation of low customer visit hours and showed a better impact of TV ads while getting rid of so many hyperparameters tuning issues that the existing model had. The model is currently in production and is used by the company’s marketing team.
