Six weeks ago, an old colleague messaged me.

Post twice a day.

Use a mix of selfies, carousels, video, polls.

Comment on 15 thought leader’s posts.

Follow and comment on 30 of their engagers posts.

Give all your best stuff away for free.

Join an engagement pod.

Nurture those new connections with your content for at least 3 months before sending a DM.

Actually, don’t.

This is the advice I got from the 'gurus' and it's utter bollocks.

The result after months doing this....ZERO leads.

Here's what most founders get wrong about LinkedIn...

They think more activity = more clients.

And if they don’t have the time to do it themselves, they outsource to a VA, just to have a 'presence'.

Worse still, peeps are now using ai bots to write their comments.

(FYI - 99% of us can spot this a mile off)

The reality is your ideal clients are scrolling past your profile and content because it sounds like everyone else's. 

"Helping businesses grow" could be anyone.

"Strategic solutions for complex challenges" means nothing.

"I help small businesses scale" .... you get my point?

Generic = invisible.

Hustle = burnout.

I ignored these 3 signs for way too long...

I’ve always believed that if your business is fully aligned with who you are, you shouldn’t need a break from it.

But sometimes, stepping away is exactly what you need.

These last few weeks, I’ve been offline more than I have in the 7 years I’ve been consulting and coaching.

And I needed it.

Before I left, I was foggy.
Frustrated.
Constantly comparing.
Beating myself up for not moving fast enough.
...even though I was taking plenty of action.

It wasn’t just hormones running amok.
And it wasn’t strategy I lacked.
It was a new perspective.

I didn’t realise how noisy it had become until the silence hit.

3. Trusting Your Instincts

I’m 50 with decades of life and business experience - not a 25 year old rookie living with Mum & Dad.

And when I look back at everything good I’ve created, it all came from one thing...

Trusting my gut.
Challenging the status quo.
Doing what made sense for me - not just following what I was told “should” work.

But somewhere along the way, the old voices crept back in.

Last night in Athens confirmed it.

We were walking through a part of town that felt… questionable.
