I help SaaS and agency founders create unique content. How does it help them or their company? - It creates a moat for their business - Your ICPs will recognize you more often - You'll get invited to delve deeper via podcasts - You'll start getting applications from talented candidates - Investors will get to know who you are and what you’re building on a deeper level. - You can no longer compete on price or features, so brand building is the only sustainable way out Besides, I strongly founders are uniquely positioned to set the content narrative for their company that no other employee can do. Here's why I feel that way: Founders have a set of core beliefs of why they started a company. Obviously, it is to make money. But, beyond that, they obviously want to solve an industry problem that's been tugging at their heart. So far so good. But, the problem is that they do not plunge headlong into it. What do I mean by that? I mean whilst they put enormous effort on sales, marketing, investor relations, raising money, hiring and so much more. But the one BIGGEST mistake they do is tasking their marketing team to create content. By doing that, founders are: - Siphoning off what should be their responsibility - Letting others dictate the tonality of their company - Falling prey to search engine algorithms - Copying their competitors And that leads to: - Wrong perception of their brand - Frustrated employees = High employee churn - Wasted opportunities to appeal to their target audience Most importantly: The lack of ORIGINALITY in their content. This happens because they don't: - Have the conviction to create unique content - Have the right processes/systems in place - Hire the right people for the job - Track the right metrics In the last seven years that I've been associated with SaaS companies, I have not seen too many founders invest their heart and soul into it. Those who have done that, they've reaped the benefits of it. Over time, their thought leadership has guided their company. Moreover, I'll be honest here about the downsides to it: - It is going to take you at least 18 months before you see success. - Most times, you'll not see any change at all. But, keep pushing. Somebody is watching you. I have failed a lot but I'm pretty sure this is the ONLY way for business to succeed in the long-term.
