I am an innovation consultant with over 25 years of experience in skin health and skincare, working at the fascinating interface of research, clinical and commercial sectors. I have a portfolio career and at present work as a business development manager at the new Skin Research Centre at University of York. (US). ► My strengths are an in-depth knowledge of skin biology in healthy skin and skin conditions, a comprehensive understanding of new trends and consumer perspective on skincare and entrepreneurial ability to translate consumer needs and bring in new solutions and insights to drive early stages of commercialisation. ► My role at the Skin Research Centre at the University of York focused on business development. ► I am the Scientific Programme Director for the Anti-Ageing Skin Care Conference and consult for healthcare and personal care industry as well as retail and indie brands and write for trade journals Cosmetics & Toiletries, SPC and The Secret Life of Skin Blog. I advise investors on the likely commercial and clinical success of niche skincare brands and mentor start-ups. ► I run a private clinic addressing consumer needs in skin health and ageing (acne, skin barrier dysfunction and skin - brain connection in mental health and well-being).
