My skills as a people and culture manager were honed during my radio exec years, when on any given day I might meet Celine Dion and Coldplay, run into Kylie Minogue and see Michael Buble in the studio. All while creating brands, connections and revenue for Australia’s leading audio network. But my career in people and culture actually kicked off when I was eight years old, stuffing final demands into envelopes at my dad’s debt collection agency. By 13, I was working the switchboard, talking to debtors. I learned as much about human nature, relationships and negotiating as during my business degree. Since then, the golden thread between my roles—recruitment, radio, e-commerce, retail, media and non-profit—is I know how to walk the tightrope between doing great fiscal business and giving people the chance to succeed wildly. I understand both business and people. My experience working with artists, global brands and agencies means I excel at stakeholder management at all levels and aligning talent with company goals and vision. I’ve served meals to the homeless with my teen girls and secured business deals in boardrooms filled with men. I've negotiated with billionaires, engaged with CEOs and collaborated with truck depot managers. My skills have seen me land the biggest breakfast radio sponsorship ever at the time, be among the 10 top revenue performers in the elite ARN CEOs club and face extreme challenges in liquidating a national retailer. In a nutshell, I’m great with people. They trust me to be authentic, whether we’re talking recruitment or redundancy. As a generalist in HR, I lead high-performance teams in competitive environments by giving vision and pathways to be their best and grow.
