As a child, I was a Girl Scout earning my Gold Award - it's like an Eagle scout but the highest award in Girl Scouting. I was always prepared and curious. In high school and college, I was the mascot - full of spirit. In college, I studied environmental studies and had dreams of being a National Park Ranger. I also worked in restaurants throughout my college years and was highly regarded for always providing outstanding customer service. I care deeply about the world and the people in it. In grad school, I found Human Resources and loved it. HR professionals have a unique perspective into the businesses we work for due to the nature of our jobs. Not only do we have a strong understanding of an organization's priorities and challenges, but we also have the ability to influence the future of a company based on the decisions we make. I consistently seek out new ways to solve old problems, enable others to do and be better, and create significant value. Everyday I’m given a chance to create meaningful and lasting relationships, learn new things, and solve complex problems that can impact the lives of hundreds of people. Businesses don’t serve people - employees serve people. I am truly a lifelong HR Professional. Today, I actively volunteer with organizations such as HR.com, Casas de las Madres, and my Alumni Regional Board at University of Vermont. I believe that it’s so important to give back.
