Microsoft

Over my 14 year tenure at Microsoft I had various transformational leadership roles across 3 continents - Australia, Latin America and Asia, launching many early adopter projects for Office365, Azure and Surface Devices. Most importantly, I was one of the first Cloud Sales Leaders ever hired at Microsoft (2009), with a goal to land the global strategy and lead Microsoft Service Providers through the dramatic industry shift. This Cloud expertise took me to Latin America and Asia, creating partnerships with Telcos, Hosters, Distributors and IT Partners, being the voice of the cloud at Microsoft, evangelising and recruiting channel partners and to launch and accelerate Microsoft's multi-billion dollar cloud leadership position that you see today.

Cloud Strategy & Leadership Australia, APAC, LATAM

In Asia, I led 2 key projects for Surface and Cloud. Firstly responsible for developing and incubating our Surface Commercial Device business across APAC - essentially a start-up for Microsoft. This required tenacity, flexibility, distribution and sales operations leadership to compete with established device players in the industry. Later I transitioned into a Cloud Leadership role for APAC, to land the new Channel Revenue Model, a new approach to SaaS selling and ensure the adoption across our regional Distribution network, Telco partnerships and Strategic MSPs.

Channel Development Leader - Surface and Cloud APAC

Due to my experience incubating the Cloud business in Australia, I was appointed to grow and evangelise Microsoft’s Cloud Strategy in Latin America. Responsible for training sales teams, recruiting Distributors, evangelising and landing channel programs to encourage partners to shift their business from on-premise to cloud models. We on-boarded over 2500 partners into the cloud during this period.

Cloud Channel Development Manager - Microsoft Latin America

Australia was one of the original launch countries for Microsoft Office365 globally and was selected as the pilot subsidiary for a unique strategic partnership with Telstra. I was chosen to lead the execution of this incubation project, creating the business model, developing the channel strategy and building a Telco engagement framework that was later adopted internationally. Little did I realise at the time that this was a foundational role which set the course of my future career as a global Cloud Transformation and SaaS Sales Leader.

During the early years at Microsoft Australia I held various channel marketing roles including SMB Marketing Manager, Partner Marketing Manager and leading the ISV community in Australia. During this time I was responsible for launching channel programs, SMB marketing campaigns, data and analytics, distribution engagement and leading events including the Australian Partner Conference.
