At the very start of this project, we partnered with PeoplePlus UK and welcomed Hannah Jenkins on secondment for two days a week to support our employability programme. Since then, we’ve provided opportunities for 126 individuals classified as LTU or NEET, achieving an incredible 52% sustained employment success rate.

To put that into perspective - it’s typical for only 1 in 3 LTU individuals to remain in long-term employment. We’re achieving 1 in 2, and that is largely down to Hannah’s relentless determination, empathy, and commitment. She works tirelessly with both candidates and employers, creating a safe, approachable space to talk through challenges before they become barriers.

We are working with people - with real lives, real pressures, and real challenges. Hannah’s ability to be supportive, understanding, and when needed, firm, has made a genuine difference. Now with us four days a week, she is a hugely respected and valued member of the team, always ready to listen, guide, and advocate.

My favourite moment of the night? Hearing SACYR UK & IRELAND called out and watching Hannah bounce onto the stage to collect the award! 💛

Proud doesn’t even come close. We were incredibly grateful for the nomination, and even more so for the win.

🚀 We’re proud to launch THREE trailblazing academies - and this is just the beginning.
 
At SACYR UK & IRELAND, we believe everybody deserves the opportunity to find their dream job.

That’s why, with the support of the Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government and Velindre University NHS Trust, and in partnership with Daniel Biddle NRAC Consultant, ACIOB, FRSA, OAHRM, MREC, we are launching three groundbreaking academies - creating real employment pathways for people living in Wales with disabilities.

These academies will support individuals who are long-term unemployed due to disability, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and take meaningful steps towards independence and sustainable employment.

▶️ Healthcare
▶️ Self-employment
 
This is a first-of-its-kind initiative, and we’re incredibly proud to be leading the way.
We’re now accepting applications for our Construction Academy, offering the opportunity to join the project team at the new Velindre Cancer Centre - one of the most iconic and important construction projects in Wales.
 
💡 After just two weeks, at least one graduate will secure full-time employment.
And yes - we even have an accessible lift at our site compound. A first for construction. Because accessibility should never be an afterthought.
This is more than training.
This is about changing lives, opening doors, and redefining what opportunity looks like.
