The Philanthropy and Fundraising Student Associate plays a role in supporting the Development department's efforts to cultivate relationships with donors, secure funding, and advance Andrews University's philanthropic goals. As a student associate, my responsibilities are as follows:

Administrative Support:
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for process improvement within the Development department.
- Assist with year-end activities, including preparing donor reports and acknowledging gifts.
- Manage mailers, email campaigns, and social media platforms to promote the Development department's initiatives.
- Engage in phone calls to cultivate relationships with potential donors and update donor information.
- Contribute to the 150-Year Celebration and collaborate with departments to facilitate Giving Days and Phonathons.

Donor Management:
- Maintain regular communication with donors through phone calls and email.
- Ensure donor information is accurate and up-to-date in the Banner system.
- Generate donor reports and provide insights into donor engagement trends.

Philanthropy Ambassadorship:
- Utilize personal social media platforms to promote the Development department's strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with ENACTUS on philanthropic and fundraising initiatives, exploring opportunities to re-envision a Student Philanthropy Club/Council at Andrews University.
- Serve as a visible and engaged representative of the Development department, building relationships with donors and fostering a culture of philanthropy within the Andrews University community.

Andrews University Enactus

As VP of Projects my responsibilities goes as follow:
- Strategic Oversight: Have overall strategic oversight of all projects within the organization, ensuring that they align with the club's long-term vision and goals.

- Resource Allocation: Be responsible for allocating resources, both financial and human, to various projects based on their strategic importance and needs.

- Project Performance: Oversee project performance, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring that projects are on track to meet their objectives.

- Leadership Team Management: As the highest-ranking executive for projects, manage and coordinate the leadership team, ensuring clear communication and collaboration among the Vice Presidents and other project leads.

- Communication with large parties: Additionally to team management, conduct communication with larger stakeholders and partners such as donors, event planners, possible large "clients", and any other high-level third-party member.

VP of Projects 

- Conducted in-depth comparisons of Accelerate Online with other leadership development and educational technology programs, focusing on the benefits for school leaders.
- Collected, organized, analyzed, and visualized data relevant to PD programs and their impact.
- Develop a strategic list of target states for expanding Accelerate Online, prioritizing based on research findings to maximize national impact.

Strategic Consulting Extern

Andrews University HelpDesk

At Andrews University, the ITS HelpDesk is the center of IT customer service. Handling emails, IDs, hardware, and assigning tasks to the departments that overview IT in the university, ITS HelpDesk workers are essential to the process as they link the two. As an ITS Desktop Technician, I am responsible for responding to all requests regarding software and hardware on the Andrews campus, recognizing what tasks go to what department and how to answer the ones that fall under my responsibility.  I am in charge of ensuring that all requests and tickets that come through our department are attended to or assigned. Supporting other team members and departments by ensuring that everything on my end is completed well is also crucial to the job.

ITS Desktop Technician 

Adventist Information Ministry (AIM)

Patience, organization, communication, and a will to help another are all skills required to perform well at Adventist Information Ministry (AIM). As an entity that represents over 40 others and handles all its customer service, being an individual that can learn and know how to describe each one of these in their regards is essential. 

Highlights: 

- Supported over 40+ Christian ministry channels attending to their callers and subscribers and fulfilling their orders, complaints, and requests. 

- Offered prayer and guidance to callers who were in need. 

- Processed over 150+ tickets to fulfill orders and file customer service issues. 

Numbers are hard to disclose in detail when it comes to working such a job, but one thing about it is I definitely learned a lot in my time there.

Customer Service Representative

Maxwell Adventist Academy

As Dean’s Assitant, it was my duty to lead the dormitory. As such, I was in charge of coordinating dormitory processes ranging from implementing rules to conflict resolution and improving the environment for the residents. I managed a team of 4 Resident Assistants (RAs), organizing them and splitting tasks between them to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere in the dormitory. I frequently reported back to my supervisors (the deans) and consulted them when faced with challenges that the RAs and I could not solve on our own. 

Highlights 🖋

🖇 Oversaw and organized dormitory activities such as worship sessions and school outings.

🖇 Established new study systems and dormitory cleaning processes while also providing one-to-one peer guidance and mentoring - this saw a significant reduction of incidences of bad behaviour and a +170% increase in our dormitory's students appearing on the Honor & High Honor List.

🖇 Drafted a plan to improve the dormitory community, designed to elevate the social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual life through a new set of guidelines and goals. The plan ran successfully in a dorm of 47 students. 

🖇 Redesigned the dormitory porch and lobby, also setting up its first library.

I recently finished my internship at Macefield Ventures and have been reflecting on my experience. I have learned a few important lessons and come to a clear conclusion: Africa is the future. From my interaction with our leaders to the research and analysis I conducted, I have faith in the continent. 

It is currently faced with numerous challenges but is filled with determined leaders. In the realm of progress, determination is the most valuable currency. The path to Africa's prosperity lies in the systematic development of emerging markets, and the strategic replication of successful business models across sectors.

To ensure this progress continues, our leaders must prioritize investments in education and provide valuable experiences for the youth by allocating resources to cultivate a skilled workforce capable of driving innovation and growth. Furthermore, they must actively court foreign capital and expertise, including diaspora, by presenting Africa as a land of untapped potential and lucrative ventures.

I've seen firsthand how many leaders are already working towards this vision and feel fortunate to have worked for a company leading the charge to ensure that the Africa we want is the Africa we get. 

The future is bright and African.
