I currently manage an organization in Pinterest's Monetization division, globally distributed across North, Central, and South America. My team is responsible for many of the user interface surfaces that enable users to create ads and pins on Pinterest. We are a full stack team, tasked with enhancing the user experience for advertisers to help improve the performance of their ads.

• Lead a mostly remote team of software engineers and business operations developers tasked with the construction and transmission of various data products that are sourced from T-MSIS data
• Leading a multi team/multi project effort to create a single framework to produce all data products that are easy to use and maintain
• Designed and championed the restructuring of the T-MSIS project to be split from one large team to four independent teams, each with their own Product Manager, Scrum Master/Project Manager, Tech Lead, and set of engineers while program level resources oversee the four new teams.
• Designed, led, and implemented with a team of engineers a project to release T-MSIS data to external stakeholders, ensuring that anonymization and security best practices are used to safeguard Personal Identifying Information

Staff Software Engineer

• Designed and implemented a company wide coaching program, revamping their existing mentorship program with a three month, single goal focused coaching program based on categories that coaches and learners were interested in regardless of where the coacher or learner was located
• Heavily involved with the restructuring of the interview process, developing new questions to be used in interviews and discussed ways to be more objective in the interviewing process
• Developed features for the T-MSIS project, the government's centralized data analytical system that contains all Medicaid claim data from all 50 states
• Took over and lead the T-MSIS Link Key project, tasked with creating a single identification key for a person's Medicaid claim history across all 50 states
• Designed and led a team to build the framework to automatically create the Data Dictionary for the T-MSIS project

Senior Software Engineer

Ancestry

• Drove the design of a new backend data pipeline that sped up the processing of DNA samples more than 10x using Celery and Python.
• Re-architected the original data pipeline to be modular instead of monolithic. Reduced recovery time from a failed pipeline run by more than 75%.
• Implemented matching algorithms designed by in-house scientists to process thousands of DNA samples daily.
• Directed cross-functional efforts to improve the integration of the team’s data pipelines to the broader Ancestry ecosystem.
• Assume management responsibilities of the DNA Pipeline Team including story creation, technical architecture, hiring, and team leadership.
• Held in house training sessions for DNA scientists that were developing code for new algorithms to use software engineer best practices and tools (i.e. Git)

• Designed and Implemented theming capability to Ancestry’s Content Management System (CMS) using Java to enable front end developers the ability to easily associate CSS and JavaScript files to reusable components, reducing development time.
• Wrote components in AngularJS to that integrated with the new theming capability, providing content creators the ability to build their own dynamic sites without writing any code
• Extended CMS to enable marketing to publish new sale offers without the need of a developer. Enabled marketing to rapidly test and launch new offers which helped increase Ancestry’s overall sales by over 10%.
• Led the development of a continuous deployment strategy to roll out code to different environments and automate testing on check-in.
