Kay Meyer inspires and trains men and women to speak clearly and confidently, and with a voice quality that assures your friends, family, colleagues, and clients will listen and learn. Kay B. Meyer, MA,CCC-SLP began her career on staff at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL. Over the next 25 years, she treated speech and language problems of over 900 youth in public schools and maintained her own private practice. Her knowledge of vocal cord disorders attracted clients who depend on their voice to make their living (actors from Chicago theatres, public figures, radio personalities, clergy, teachers, and international business people.) In 2007, Kay launched You Are Your Voice to increase her outreach as an inspirational speaker, and communication trainer. Kay instills her clients with skills they will need to “think on their feet” and to speak with confidence and clarity as they enter new living and work communities, higher education, and beyond. Having a "trained ear" after more than 25 years puts Kay in a unique position to listen, categorize and diagnose communication problems in as few as 1-2 sessions. She is quick to identify the need to collaborate with other resource professionals (image coaches, etiquette instructors, accent trainers, speech writers, et al ) and provide early referral for medical intervention and treatment when movement difficulty and vocal quality are picked up on in her screening.
