Responsible for the financial close process, statutory reporting, account reconciliations, SoX, and underlying controls / processes for GE Healthcare Canada.

Oversight over financial reporting, commercial contracting, revenue recognition, inventory, payables, intercompany transactions, warranty, statutory reporting, IPP Compliance, VAT, hedging, and receivables / bad debt.  Research accounting issues and ensure entity compliance in accordance with US GAAP and Canadian ASPE standards

Drive policy (commercial and compliance) adoption across the business to ensure consistency with Global GE and GEHC policies. Partner with operations and key cross functional stakeholders to enhance business processes, controls, and drive efficiency / quality across the organization.

Manage a team of 4 Finance professionals

Controller - GE Healthcare Canada

Partnered with commercial leadership in deal structuring of customer contracts across multiple lines of business for GE Healthcare Canada. Drive process efficiency partnering with operations, finance, and product/commercial teams.

Research and resolution of complex finance and accounting issues in US GAAP working with Americas and Global Controllership. Supported process impacting financial reporting and analysis including account reconciliations across areas such as Deferred Revenue, Deferred COGS, and liabilities.

Commercial Controller - GE Healthcare Canada

Sun Microsystems

Partnered with Revenue Controller on analysis of long-term and complex sales contracts to ensure appropriate treatment in accordance with US GAAP for Deferred Revenue, COGS, and related Customer-Based Reserves.

Supported period end close by preparing closing journal entries, account reconciliations, and leading issue resolution in Cash Management, Deferred Revenue / COGS, Receivables, Payables, Accruals, Hedging, and Foreign Currency Translation/Revaluation. Automated existing manual processes driving increased accuracy, reduced manual effort, and speed in financial execution.

Project Consultant, General Accounting

Bell Canada

Led a department of two Managers performing forecasting, planning, and financial analysis of P&L, cash flow, inventory, headcount, demand capital, and related metrics for the Bell TV business unit (formerly Bell ExpressVU).

Partnered with senior management in delivering ad-hoc analysis including modeling new package pricing, challenging financial forecasting models, and working with Controllers group on financial accounting issues and controls assessment.

Managed the Benefits Realization Council (BRC) - a governance body overseeing the Supply Services cost savings program across Bell Canada. The group led cost savings, cost avoidance, and spend rationalization projects to reduce cost across the company.

Provided opertaional finance support to the Procurement, Carrier Sourcing, Supply Chain, Real Estate, and Fleet teams to develop cost savings targets,business case reviews, ROI analysis for capital funding, and partnering with BU Finance Directors in savings realization (opex and capex).
