I am now retired from the University of Birmingham and from work. I worked as Business Development Executive at Locate in Birmingham the city's former investment promotion agency for over 16 years from 1994 until 2010 Important Birmingham projects I worked on: - The relocation of The Elmhurst School for Dance from Camberley in Surrey to Edgbaston in Birmingham as the feeder ballet school for David Bintley's Birmingham Royal Ballet, a £20 million project that I managed from December 2000 until Elmhurst opened in Birmingham in October 2004 - The rationalisation of NHS Sterile Services in Birmingham in an NHS outsourcing project to consolidate sterile services from 8 Birmingham hospital sites to one centralized operation at Kings Norton in South Birmingham - The relocation of Deutsche Bank Overseas International (DBOI) from Mumbai to 1 Brindleyplace on Broad Street in Birmingham creating 2500 high value financial services sector jobs in Birmingham - I also worked with State Bank of India, ICICI Bank & National Bank of Punjab to locate their first Birmingham branches on Soho Road Handsworth - The establishment of the European R&D HQ for Shanghai Automotive Industries Corporation (SAIC) at the former Rover site in Longbridge, Birmingham I am also a poet, writer, and local history enthusiast involved with Smethwick Museum: "The Museum in the Park". I am a Friend of Lightwoods Park and House and a member of Warley Woods Community Trust in my home town Bearwood, to the west of Birmingham I am also a supporter of Moseley Rugby, Aston Villa FC and The Warwickshire (Birmingham) Bears. I am now retired at 63 after 5 years working as a Rating Surveyor with Lambert Smith Hampton in Birmingham, followed by a 16 year plus career as an inward Investment professional with Birmingham City Council's former Inward Investment and Investment promotion agency: Locate in Birmingham ending with 5 years working in Facilities Management at the University of Birmingham.
