As a Foundation Phase Coding and Robotics Teacher for Grades 0-2, I draw upon my extensive experience in early childhood education to foster a love for learning and innovation in young minds. I am passionate about integrating computational thinking skills into our curriculum through hands-on, engaging, and play-based lessons. These foundational experiences not only prepare students for future coding endeavors but also equip them with essential 21st-century skills. Every day, I am inspired by the opportunity to learn and grow alongside my students, nurturing their curiosity and creativity. As an educator, I believe in seeing each learner as a unique individual. Encouraging them to embrace the power of being who they are whilst guiding them to develop according to their own interests, strengths & skills. My years in the classroom have played an instrumental role in making me the person that I am today, from the connections that I have made with my students, parents & fellow colleagues to the skills and resilience that I have gained along the way. Inspired by my passion for education, technology & design, I use every opportunity to enhance the learning experiences of my students by integrating technology into the classroom and developing new resources to ensure that students are engaged and accommodated according to their learning styles. My skills in these specific areas came to the rescue whilst navigating the unchartered territories of teaching online during lockdown 2020. I invested many hours into developing interactive resources to keep my students interested & engaged during online lessons. In my free time, I enjoy getting lost in online learning platforms and tutorials for up-skilling myself and further pursuing my own interests. I am currently learning iOS development with the goal of being able to transform the learning resources that I have designed into fully functional educational apps. On a more personal note - I am also a wife, mom, side-hustle business owner, happy camper/vintage caravaner, coffee drinker, aaaand aspiring children's book author.
