15 years of footwear buying experience across departments Across synthetic to high end leather product. Experience in buying branded footwear. Mentored 2 trainees into buying roles I completed a 3 year National Diploma course in Clothing management after High School before getting a position as an assistant merchandiser at Jacques Hau. I later joined Ackermans and took part in their Trainee Buyer, Planner program for 2 years while working as an assistant buyer in the Ladies footwear department. Once signed off from the program i received my own portfolio as a Buyer for Mens and Boys Footwear, this position i held for 4 years after which i moved into the toddler boys footwear portfolio for a further 2 years. After 8 years at Ackermans i decided i needed a change and was appointed as the Senior buyer for Mens Leisure footwear at Cape Union Mart for Old Khaki, Cape Union Mart leisure and Tread and Miller. I oversaw these areas as well as mentored 2 trainees into buying positions and took on extra responsibility as accessories buyer for Tread and Miller for a short period of time. Working for the Cape Union Mart group allowed me to expand my skills into leather and premium footwear as well as branded footwear such as Asics, Adidas, Puma etc.
