Founded in 2004, Torrey Hills Technologies has grown to be a leader in the supply of three roll mills, microelectronics packaging components, such as copper tungsten heat sinks, to major manufacturers. The company ships worldwide to more than 60 countries and regions. They deliver quality but affordable materials and equipment for multiple industries. From manufacturing award-winning three roll mills in San Diego to working simultaneously with it's manufacturing plant which was also started by it's CEO Ken Kuang in Yixing China they're able to source copper tungsten, copper-molybdenum, and other composite materials. Ken has also successfully introduced the HENGLI brand production furnaces to the international market, drying and firing furnaces have been widely used in solar cell processing and electronic assembly industries.

While driving sales and growing the Torrey Hills Technologies product line, Ken has also published a series of books utilizing his past experience and what he's learned through his time since starting Torrey Hills Technologies. His publishments have been on Fuel Cell Electronics Packaging, RF and Microwave Microelectronics Packaging, Advanced Thermal Management Materials, RF and Microwave Microelectronics Packaging II, and lastly Conveyor Belt Furnace Thermal Processing - all published through Springer.

Ken Kuang is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and experienced executive who established Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC in 2004. He propelled Torrey Hills to become ranked #188 in the INC500 Fast Growing Private Companies in America and ranked #2 in San Diego Business Journal 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in San Diego. Additionally, he was a finalist for the Most Admired CEO award in San Diego on three separate occasions.

Kuang has been a prominent member of the International Microelectronics And Packaging Society (IMAPS) for a considerable period and was the Vice President of Membership. He is renowned as an expert in RF/MW packaging, having delivered numerous presentations at packaging conferences. He was also the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Best Session Paper in IMAPS 2000, Best Symposium Paper in ICEPT 2003, the IMAPS President Awards in 2008 and 2012, and the Fellow of the Society in 2014.

In 2013, Kuang's company was bestowed with the Tibbetts Award at the White House on May 16, 2013, for its Excellence in Small Business Innovation Research.

What a Beautiful Sight: Airbus's Beluga takes off! 

The Airbus Beluga, also known as the A300-600ST Super Transporter, is a wide-body freighter aircraft that transports aircraft parts and large cargo. It has one of the largest cargo holds of any civil or military aircraft and has been in service for over 20 years. The BelugaST has a semi-automated main deck cargo loading system and a transportable heating module that can be installed in the main deck cargo compartment to provide temperature-controlled conditions for sensitive payloads.

How does a combine harvester work?

A combine harvester, also called simply a combine, is a large machine used to harvest grains. It's an agricultural marvel that significantly reduces the manpower needed to bring in crops.
Here's a simplified breakdown of how a combine harvester works:
1) Cutting: The combine harvester has a large cutting attachment at the front called a header. This cuts the stalks of the crop just above the ground.
2) Threshing: The cut stalks are fed into a threshing mechanism. This threshes the grain by separating it from the stalks. Threshing traditionally involved beating the stalks with a mechanical device, but modern combines use a rotary threshing system.
3) Separating: Once the grain is separated from the stalks, it needs to be further cleaned. The combine uses a sieve and a fan to winnow away chaff, dust and any remaining straw from the grain.
4) Storing: The cleaned grain is collected in a large onboard storage tank. The combine operator can then unload the grain into a truck or trailer for transport.
5) Straw management: The leftover straw after threshing can be chopped up and spread back over the field or collected in bales for use as animal bedding or mulch.
Modern combines are complex machines with  high-tech features.  For example, they may use GPS to  track yield and  automatically adjust settings  based on crop conditions.

How did the Egyptians Build the Pyramids 4600 Years Ago? 

Even today, archaeologists and engineers are still piecing together exactly how the Egyptians built the pyramids thousands of years ago. 

Here's what we know:
1) Massive stones: The pyramids are made of enormous stone blocks, some weighing tens of tons. Quarrying and transporting these stones must have been a huge undertaking.
2) Ramp system: The most likely theory involves a ramp system. Egyptians might have built ramps made of earth and wood that gradually increased in height as the pyramid rose.
3) Human power:  While some theories propose advanced technology, most experts believe the pyramids were built using skilled labor and ingenuity.  Sheer manpower combined with tools and organization likely played a major role.
The Nile River: The Nile may have been crucial for transporting stones. Egyptians might have used boats to move the blocks to the pyramid construction sites.

There are still many unanswered questions,  like how the Egyptians lifted the stones to such great heights.  New discoveries and ongoing research continue to shed light on these amazing structures.

【The Coupler: an Important Invention in the History of Trains】
The coupler, specifically the Janney coupler or knuckle coupler, was a revolutionary invention that dramatically improved safety and efficiency in train operations. Here's why it was so important:
Safer for Workers: Before the Janney coupler, trains were connected using a link-and-pin system. 【Amazing Nature: Chandelier Tree, a Giant Sequoia in Drive-Thru Tree Park, California】
The Chandelier Tree in Drive-Thru Tree Park is a 276-foot (84 m) tall coast redwood tree in Leggett, California with a 6-foot-wide (1.8 m) by 6-foot-9-inch-high (2.06 m) hole cut through its base to allow a car to drive through. Its base measures 16 ft (4.9 m) diameter at breast height (chest-high). 
The name "Chandelier Tree" comes from its unusual limbs that resemble a chandelier. The limbs, which measure from 4 to 7 ft (1.2 to 2.1 m) in diameter, begin 100 ft (30 m) above the ground. It is 2,400 years old.

【Amazing Nature: Incoming - Oxalis Seed Missiles! 🚀 🚀  】
The Oxalis plant goes ‘ballistic’ when touched!
With millions of years’ evolution, plants and fungi have developed a variety of ballistic dispersal structures for seeds or spores. One typical example is the catapult of an Oxalis, which can realize a consecutive seed ejection by triggering only one seed. If the protrusion on an aril, a specialized outgrowth covering a seed, is disturbed, cracks would occur and cause the opening of the aril. Subsequently, the whole aril snaps and transforms its stored strain energy to eject the inside seed with an optimal launching angle. Once the first seed is triggered, its curly aril will contact the next seed’s protrusion and induce its firing. This chain effect will further trigger the remaining seeds in turns, within 0.1 s.
